August 21, 200619 yr At this point the aircraft was actually largely out of control, but I was still able to get it this high.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154521.jpgEDIT - And by this point, it was just spiralling upwards. Maxed out a few thousand feet above this and then started falling before I hit pause to grab the shot!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154527.jpg
August 21, 200619 yr Or at Edwards Air Force base. I Agree, that would be a great mission. But since the Shuttle is not a default plane that won't happen till somebody makes such a mission.Regards, Carlos

August 21, 200619 yr Cool shot! One thing I have noticed is I have yet to have a ship be completely controllable at that altitude, I hope there will be a way to do this with the new (old?)airfiles. I was going to do some Sci Fi ships, but it's pointless if you can't control them.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/ambanner.jpg Best, Michael KDFW
August 21, 200619 yr You might be able to control them if you climb very slowly. My assent was a combination of climbing quick then slow then up then down then all over just to see what would happen.
August 21, 200619 yr Finally a shuttle picture :)Still doesn't beat my 559961ft though :(http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/9306/image010us2.jpgGreat pics
August 22, 200619 yr Hmmm... How are you expecting to control these aircraft at this altitude? This high up, there won't be much air to push on the control surfaces. Have you developed a set of thruster gauges? I'm thinking something like what was done to simulate vertical takeoff in the harrier, etc..Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
August 22, 200619 yr FSX will need to model thruster forces as opposed to just control forces. There's not enough air to push against at those altitudes :)
