When I add the menu bar (ALT key) my FPS drops by about 10% to 15%. With clouds (detailed) there is no difference with/without the menu bar.

I think from experience that the drop in frames has to do with your screen being in full screen and non-full screen. I noticed a slight drop in frames in full screen mode, however I get a delay in texture loads when NOT in full screen mode.Hope this helpsBill

I actually think that the fps value displayed by Ctrl-Z is generally incorrect. FSX feels much more fluid on my system than the displayed fps values and compared to similar frame rates in FS9.Pat
