August 13, 200619 yr I saw this earlier, a few interesting items, but nothing really new I felt. Looks like I need to add 2 soundcards and 2 graphic cards to my wishlist for a future new rig :) Alaister Kay
August 13, 200619 yr Shader model 2 :-hmmm version 3 has been around for quite a while. And DX10 includes SM 4..
August 13, 200619 yr Although no multiplayer missions is a bummer, this makes me happy:A: The FSX mission system allows mission creators to add random elements to individual missions, including failures. Mission creators also have the ability to include AI entities in missions and assign them waypoints to follow during the mission.

August 13, 200619 yr >Arghh, no support for SLI under dx9.:( Yea, I find this to be quite baffling. Some input on why it should be this way would be nice.Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg
August 13, 200619 yr I am not sure how 2 sound cards is going to work. Won't they conflict with each other?Rhett Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
August 13, 200619 yr Hmm... seeing how the thread was revisited without any explanation for this rather disturbing detail, I guess MS really don't know either why SLI won't do anything for DX9-FSX. :)Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg

Might help somewhat (~5%?) but don't hope for too much.
August 14, 200619 yr Seems to be a common thing in MS related games:http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/12/02/vga...iii/page20.htmlIgnorance or business strategy? :)Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg

August 14, 200619 yr USB Headset = USB soundcard. :)"Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
August 14, 200619 yr I'll just take that as a request to elaborate. :)The benchmark table on the page I linked seems to indicate that there are a number of titles where an SLI configuration not only doesn't improve game performance but in fact takes away from it (sometimes more, sometimes less). With the exception of Serious Sam 2 all those titles in question are in one way or other associated with MS (if only as publisher).Taking into account that FS' rendering engine doesn't seem to benefit from SLI either I was just asking myself if this is coincidental or some kind of business tactic. No idea what you would gain from passing up on SLI, but still.Of course having a game which doesn't benefit from SLI will incite more CPU upgrades, but I won't even start down that road of conspiracy theories. Guess I'm just disgruntled that getting a second card won't do much for me in terms of improving FS performance.Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg
