August 11, 200619 yr As they seem to be the processor sponsor for FSX has anyone tried it with this chip yet? Maybe this is the secret to the demo working properly?
August 11, 200619 yr Author My question exactly.....Anyone?? Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 11, 200619 yr K Frederiksen in this thread http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=13522&page= has Core 2 Duo (reply 17) but no mention of actual FPS unfortunately. August 11, 200619 yr Sure..It's a very fast cpu, and flighsim has always been very cpu intensive, and i dont believe fsx is different.I've built my new system, 2 weeks ago, almost intirely for it to be my flying mashine. It runs the demo quite well, but i feel it's never possible to buy hardware that will make the sim run smooth, in all areas, with max settings, at the time when the sim comes out. It usually takes 1 year or 1

August 11, 200619 yr Actually 3.2 is without breaking a sweat.I have'nt increased Vcore, or cooling, to get that speed.I can overclock it much further, but opted not to, since my intention all along was to build a high-end, but also very quiet system. So all 3 120mm coolers are running at low speed.3.6-3.7 Ghz is absolutely not out of reach with the e6600 and paired with good ram, and a good cooler.

Obviously I'm looking for good timings, but there are some reports of compatibility issues with some DDR2 modules and newer mobos. Also, what do you have your FSB clocked at?
August 11, 200619 yr FSB is 355 x 9Ram is @ 1065, 5-5-5-15, Corsair, and they are on the Asus qualified vendor list for the P5B Deluxe, approved for up to 4 modules of 1 Gig.
August 11, 200619 yr Author I dont think we were thinking from a 'dual core' point of view, more from the fact that the Core 2 Duo (or Conroe) is brand new architecture and is currently wiping the floor with most A64 X2's (including the $$$$ FX-62) and ANY single core CPU that you care to put it up against. August 11, 200619 yr Ahh... the DDR2 1066 is a bit out of my reach at the moment. It just pushes the total price of this project into the realm where my girlfriend starts frowning. I think I'm going to go with the same Crucial XMS, but the DDR2 800.
August 11, 200619 yr I am putting together what is showing to be a very repeatable 2 min benchmark using a flight video and FRAPS to give an average FPS for a quick circuit of TNCM in the ultralight that I would appreciate you running on your system for comparison purposes to mine. If it turns out to be useful enough, we could all use it as an apples to apples comparison of what the base FSX demo performs like on various systems.More details shortly..Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
