August 12, 200619 yr how about cpu speed is not the problem and only a totally new directx can fix it!!
August 12, 200619 yr Personally ive decided that this is probably the absolute worst time to invest in building/buying a new pc. I will definately be waiting 1 more year (current p4 3.06, 1gig dram, ati9800 pro) before building a new system from scratch. By that time Vista, DX-10, the drivers, and all the compatible hardware will be ready for prime time.Building or buying right now makes no sense if you're definately going to want a solid dx-10 machine a year from now so ill wait...probably wont even be buying FSX this time around anyway as ive no need for the type of eye candy upgrade theyre giving us...i was hoping for more of an ATC and aircraft/flight modeling improvement so i wasnt impressed with what ive seen thus far...while i certainly appreciate a few of the added options its nothing that warrants me running right out and purchasing on release...therefore, to try and squeeze 1 more year out of my current setup im just going to add a new GPU (GF7800GS for cheap) and 1 more gig of dram. At least this will allow me to play the new games comming out at mid-settings, until i feel that Vista & dx-10 are beyond their inevitable growing pains.Dave Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons

August 12, 200619 yr Author FX-62 vs E6600X2 5000+ vs E6400X2 4200+ vs E6300Thats 'comparable' from current benchmarks. SO on close performing processors, does the new architecture of Core 2 Duo make a difference in FS9 / FSX as it supposedly superior at number crunchinhg, which FS does a lot.ie - bang for $$$Not too difficult to comprehend.
