Hi there I have bootcamp and a XP build on my 15' 2 Gig Macbook Pro (1 Gig Ram)Mobility Radeon X1600.Installed FSX and I am getting 2x - ??x more framerates the same settings as my PC (P4 3.4 AGP 6800ULTRA, 1 GIG RAM)http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/3190/2g...cbookproko4.jpgYES THAT IS 60+ fps, as I panned around it dropped down to 30 fps!Is this the dual core advantage or is it a better vid card or faster architecture? This is the Apple laptop....Now I want a Intel Quad G5 Mac to run FSX!!Sonicbaz

Wow, now thats impressive!Post more screeniesBill

I'm on my way out the door. I'll try and post more later. Maybe someone else with a Macbook Pro can confirm these results. Frame rate on this pic is showing 38.5http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/615/200...25750218ww8.jpg

What resolution are you running in?

Where are the sliders set to ?

Do you have any antialiasing? that looks a little blocky, and might be why your frames are so high

put all sliders to the max in customize window and add light bloom etc. what fps do u get then

how much do these things cost?!?

Maximum Res 14?? x 900 I have to do more testing the sliders were pretty high though. Didn't do anything with AA. Yeah I will try bloom next. Will do some more testing when I get the chance.

Hi there,This looks very interesting. Could you please explain in more detail what>...I have bootcamp and a XP build SX!!...............is supposed to mean. Just curious as to how you got Windows FSX to run on a Mac.Cheers,Keith

Just taken some more screen shots. I was using mouse as yoke so please ignore the bad flying. 1024x768Every graphics page set to high apart from traffic set to low. No AAhttp://img221.imageshack.us/img221/864/200...85331515gt8.pngWith AA (noticed little performance hit)http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/7168/20...85442703yq1.pnghttp://img221.imageshack.us/img221/5599/20...85934937pu6.pnghttp://img226.imageshack.us/img226/3457/2006812904893np0.pnghttp://img226.imageshack.us/img226/8594/20...85856890hc0.png1440 x 900AASame graphics settings.TRILINEAR FILTERING!Notice the performance hit but still this is a stock Apple laptop!!http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/8966/20068129329843vp0.pnghttp://img213.imageshack.us/img213/1769/20...29358359un4.pnghttp://img213.imageshack.us/img213/2784/20...29422796ne1.pnghttp://img213.imageshack.us/img213/4673/20...29428609zd8.pngFor those that don't know, Apple are in the process of moving all of their hardware to the Intel platform. Apple Bootcamp allows me to run XP and Mac OS X on my 15" 2.0 Gig Dual Core Macbook Pro. As I mentioned in my original post, imagine what this is this going to run like on a high end Intel Quad G5 with 4 Gig Ram? All I can say is wow, I'm impressed.

>Every graphics page set to high apart from traffic set to low.Not full autogen then.No AI traffic. From the look of the screenshots absolutely no clouds and weather effects either.>All I can say is wow, I'm impressed. Uh-huh. Considering it's Bootcamp this sure is a nice result, but nothing you couldn't do with a comparable PC. :)Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg

>Uh-huh. Considering it's Bootcamp this sure is a nice result, but >nothing you couldn't do with a comparable PC. :)Yes yes, but my point is that the dual core seems to make a huge difference over my single P4 3.4 Intel, which is a useful for upgrade considerations. Nothing to do with Mac vs PC. I turned AI to low as mentiond on tdragger's blog as road AI is hitting performance hard. High settings means autogen is set to normal. Weather has made little difference to performance.AAHigh Settings except for AI which is set to low1440 x 900Trilinear FilteringAdded some cloud cover. At these settings performance is varied at different locations. http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/9946/20...04612312hf2.png
