July 22, 200619 yr Hi, Does the A321 in FSX fly like a Boeing, or does it behave like an Airbus with limits for pitch, bank, auto trim, alpha floor protection etc. Jan-Paul
July 22, 200619 yr >Hi, >>Does the A321 in FSX fly like a Boeing, or does it behave like>an Airbus with limits for pitch, bank, auto trim, alpha floor>protection etc. >>>Jan-Paul Probably Not. I don't use default airliners anyway and I would download IFDG's A321 or maybe even Project Airbus's future models which I haven't heard anything about. Has anybody remember Project Airbus coming back to make the A320 series models for fs2004 and possibly FSX? I seemed to read this a few months back on avsim.
July 22, 200619 yr Would be nice....but i dont think so :(In anycase i think its better for MS to make FSX a good platform for 3rd parties to work their magic. Just look at LDS 767!
July 23, 200619 yr and since when this behavior is only of airbus? do you know that a F-16 have this behavior?sorry pal, you must read a bit more about flight. What you asking about is the Fly-by-Wire limits, such as the flight envelope limit protection.in alternate law, airbus fly as any other aircarft, making sharp turns, tunneaux, loopings, and the flight computer don't even argue with the pilot.MAYBE, a FADEC control... July 23, 200619 yr "sorry pal, you must read a bit more about flight"I may not be as literate on the subject as are you but I do know that in reality (the reality of a full motion level D sim anyway ;)) an Airbus and a Boeing feel very different to fly. I strongly suspect that the default 737 (800 this time out) & the A321 will "feel" very much the same in FSX. I also hope very much that I am wrong about that. :)Which is not to say that I am not looking forward to FSX. Having "flown" the sample missions at IFC Denver I will buy it as soon as it is available. If nothing else I want the tighter mesh, the improved water, the better textures, and more realistic roads. Oh I have all of that as add-ons to FS04 but I'm hoping not to have to use it in FSX. Each of those things extend load times. If the generic scenery is good enough I'll skip as much of that as possible. Of course I have some favorite sceneries in FS04 that I hope to be able to use in FSX but I don't want to have to alter the overall look of the product. From what I saw I believe that FSX is at least as much of an improvement over FS04 as it was over FS02... I don't even want to talk about FS2K. :-lol
July 23, 200619 yr and since when this behavior is only of airbus? do you know that a F-16 have this behavior? That's a bit harsh on the original poster don't you think? If there was an F16 in FSX then your question would be relevant but since there isn't...Why ask a question (several questions), only to come out with a statement such as "sorry pal, you must read a bit more about flight", before the said questions are even replied to?What you asking about is the Fly-by-Wire limits, such as the flight envelope limit protection.Yes that IS what he was asking about, why do you feel the need to re-affirm this? :-rollI for one think that the airbus will have some flight envelope protection, how much *some* is remains to be seen. :) Bernard
July 23, 200619 yr >Hi, >>Does the A321 in FSX fly like a Boeing, or does it behave like>an Airbus with limits for pitch, bank, auto trim, alpha floor>protection etc. >>>Jan-Paul I don't know what answer the original poster expected. Only a few beta testers have now access to the information and are bound by the NDA. At this point everything is ONLY speculation until MS releases more information, until the NDA is lifted and ultimately until FSX is released.Pat
July 25, 200619 yr The Airbus will have a fly-by-wire system just like the real thing. I'm not aware of all the details, though, so can't comment on everything it will do. It will definitely fly differently that the Boeings, though.
July 25, 200619 yr Thanks for the answer, Mike, I'm excited to hear that... I swore I would never fly an Airbus, but now I'm willing to give it a try.-Gary

July 25, 200619 yr Hi, thanks for the answer. Here is an interesting page about the different Flight Control Law's, but I don't expect to see every little detail covered in a default plane;-) . But it should be a good base for a 3rd party Airbus like PMDG's. http://www.airbusdriver.net/airbus_fltlaws.htmJan-Paul
July 25, 200619 yr I have assumed all along that that developers like PMDG and Peter Wilding announced an Airbus in the pipeline as a result of FSX containing a default Airbus model. This fact always suggested to me that the FS development team decided to program a flight model for fly-by-wire aircraft, a basic platform upon which third party developers can build their super detailed versions. It would be nice to think that the FS developers had also thought about providing a good platform for the turbo prop class of aircraft too for third party developers to build on, not that Flight1 made a bad job of their ATR!in FS9!!
