July 20, 200619 yr "How many regions are there in FSX... i think 22?"According to the new preview report at simflight.com there are 23 regions. "It would be nice if road traffic can be regionalised too."According to the same report only in densely populated regions or areas.

Depending on the rules of the road in any given region, traffic will drive either on the left or right sides of the road... Fr. July 20, 200619 yr I would guess that traffic will probably be only present on dual carriageways because of hardware limitations. Can you imagine how many frames it would sap having traffic on every road in London? If traffic does appear on every road (which it may) I can't see the density being that high as it would just kill the computer. The range it which it appears would have to be limited too. LOD can do a lot but I don't think it can work miracles.Maybe I am wrong, I hope I am but I don't believe so. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.

This avoids dealing with intersections, stop lights, and generally doing a full-fledged traffic sim. Considering the area you can see from 10,000 feet, no computer on earth would be able to handle simulating and rendering the actual breadth and depth of city traffic, especially while still running the rest of Flight Simulator.>How dense will traffic be on country roads? I bet a country road in>AZ is not as densely populated as in MD. Will they account for rush>hours? What about stop lights? What about highway lighting?Traffic density changes both based on population density and time of day. :) Vehicles have head and tail lights at night, road night textures are lit similarly to FS9.
