Moving FSX Scenery to FSX:SE

Featured Replies

I have been trying to move my XP FSX scenery to my W7 FSX:SE insallation.

The directories all moved OK.

But FSX:SE is not displaying the scenery objects. But the airport information part of the files is there.

Why isn't FSX:SE displaying the AddOn Scenery?

To start with, make sure that you have them listed in Scenery.cfg.  SceneryConfigEditor is free and a helpful tool for that.  You do need to have Java installed to use it.

Is this all scenery, or  specific scenery areas?  If specific, then can you list some or all of them.

Some scenery contains a separate object bgl file that gets stored in Global\Scenery  Others might have effects, textures, etc. that get placed in those folders.  FSDT even creates a Addon Manager directory.

Thanks..

No need to move any directories and, if you did, that is probably the problem.  The scenery.cfg is located in C:\ProgramData\FSX-SE.  You need to be sure you are showing FSX-SE and not just FSX.  Once done, the scenery.cfg should see everything FSX saw as the directories for the add-on scenery remain the same.
