Flight Planner

Featured Replies

I wish the flight planner could display the current weather conditions on the map (including ATIS), and when you zoom in it can display the current runways in use. When you select a runway it can display the SIDS available on the map so you can choose one. This will make it alot easier.Currently it can take a long time searching the web for charts etc and even after you plan the flight, some SIDS may not be in the FMC, so you have to change it.

Is the background map static or does it obtain it's data from your installed scenery (mesh etc). hopefully the watermask is better and not in need of tweaking by third parties. Will it display wx in aviation format :) check out adds for the wind barbs etc :) That wuold be cool IMHO- switchable to a more frienly format, of course!

Not really asked a question about FSX (looking forward to it though) :)I'm pretty sure this hasn't been asked, I see QNH has been incorporated a bit more but how will information on the QFE be handled?

Those are great improvements tdragger, thank you.One other improvement, IMO, would be to increase the map to full screen so it is easier to see and navigate. I have no idea if this has been mentioned before or if it is easy or possible to do.

That's a good one. The current map really is a bit small. Also, if winds aloft could be displayed, that would really be icing on the cake.

A different option I think would be great is allowing (maybe thru fspiuc or something like that) communcation/interfacing with the Golden Eagle Fliteprep software which is free-terrific flight planning, tfr downloads, depiction of cloud cover, airspace, and winds in 2d below the planner (and gets duats for real world pilots)!http://www.flightprep.com/rootpage.php?page=infogoldeneagleTfr's are probably one of the most important if not the most important things in preflight flying in the US today-to leave a tfr briefing out of a sim flight is missing a lot of real world simulating imho! :-)http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/148629.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Hi,The background map may not be static, even in FS2004. When I install my 1963 Kai Tak scenery, the map conforms to the shoreline contours of the 60's, just as I designed them. Chek Lap Kok fill is gone too, replaced by my CLK island. I have not yet inactivated the scenery and checked if the shoreline returns to the modern configuration, though.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
