Okay, sounds great, I appreciate your help. I hope JL will also be able to answer all of my previous questions as well. That would be very much appreciated.

Hi,

this topic is going to many different directions and it is becoming harder to keep track!

I'll try my best:

  • There are 2 map pages, one goes no less than 5nm, the other way below. Make sure to use the correct one.
  • The POST flags are wrong sometimes depending on: the datarefs the aircraft is using, the 'Connect GPS to xxx' options, the AFMS settings (V-Flag declutter), and since XP11.31 they've added 2 new 'HSI mechanical flag' datarefs which are no longer governed the same as the previous ones. There seems to be a discrepancy between the 'GPS override' dataref and these new datarefs unfortunately for now.
  • The RAIM check is working. Just try it! And you can fail the check using our published datarefs.

I’m unable to receive Glide Path guidance on LPV approaches using your Reality XP G530 with the C172SP. Everything else works fine I can Load and Activate the GPS Approach and I receive Lateral Guidance on the CDI but I don’t receive Glide Path Guidance on the Vertical CDI. Can this please get fixed. Thank you.

@FlyBoy888 The GNS V2 is supporting LPV approaches and can provide vertical guidance both on the HSI and/or the VOR and/or the autopilot. Therefore can you please detail a typical approach you've tried which is failing on you? Also can you please post the content of the [GNS_530_1] section of the RealityXP.GNS.ini file so that we can also cross-check your settings? (change this with the GNS_530_2 section if you are using the GNS device unit #2)

I appreciate your help. Here is the complete text of the RealityXP.GNS.ini for the C172SP. I believe the problem I'm experiencing on LPV Approaches is that the Vertical CDI Flag does not go away and this will not allow the autopilot to follow the Glide Path.

I hope you can take a look at my code text and let me know if I should make any corrections. I do need to apologize because the Glide Path and autopilot do work on LPV Approaches, however the Vertical CDI Flag never goes away which in the real world would make the pilot unable to fly the LPV Approach and disregard any Glide Path indications from the CDI.

Hi,

You might want to try the AFMS settings V-Flag declutter?

And/Or connect the GPS to the HSI as well and compare?

  • Author

Thank you I will try that out.

  • Author

I already had my HSI set to GPS, Howe I did set the V-Flag declutter and unfortunately I still receive the VCDI Flag on self test and LPV, LNAV/VNAV, LNAV +V Approaches. Do you have any other suggestions?

Honestly right now we're too much committed to finishing up and shipping the update to the GTN for the latest trainer. I'll cross-check this right after though.

Just so that I make sure: is this with the default C172, unmodified, with he latest XP11 RELEASE version (not beta)?

Thank you! I’m using X-Plane 11.34r non beta with the C172SP Simcoders Reality Expansion Pack. Simcoders confirmed that they’re fully compatible with RealityXP.
