Sorry but ATC is a sensitive subject with me and I try keep venting to myself and I'm sure that Vox is the most realistic but it doesn't carry it's own FMS data from Navigraph unlike ProATC and P2ATC, it's good at handling AI Traffic but the ones that it injects not the default AI Traffic, even if it's a .net app it's still nearly 10 years old and hasn't had a major update in nearly two years and support to fix present issues is non existent. Right now the cost is $80.40Cdn more than P3D $78.92Cdn which is to much in my book. I'm sure that it's good at what it does but let's face it, we need something better, something that's updated and something with ongoing support. I don't know who controls Vox but my recommendation would be to do the honorable thing and give it to someone who will update and support it and let Vox collect royalties or join Radar Contact. If MS or even P3D come out with a fully functioning ATC with Sids and Stars and ongoing support, payware ATC is no more.

This quoted text was posted in a different AVSim subforum and was off-topic, so I will respond to it here. VOXATC does support Navigraph and this is stated clearly in the User Manual. It uses LevelD 767 format and this updates all approaches to the latest AIRAC. VOXATC injects far more realistic AI traffic than the default sim, as it both controls and communicates with the AI aircraft. They correctly follow all arrivals, departures and approaches, so they don't crash into the user aircraft, either in the air or on the ground. The present version of VOXATC is 64 bit and is not ten years old. Besides, the logic of real world ATC has not changed substantially in the last ten years. When P3d4 was released, there were a number of cost-free open beta versions of the 64 bit version of VOXATC and there have been two additional updates since the RTM version of 7.4 was released on 31 July 2017. The latest update (7.42) was released on 3 October 2018. As to the price, VOXATC in US dollars presently costs $61.14. ProATC presently costs $59.95 and Pilot2ATC costs $55.69. All three ATC add-ons are comparably priced. To update VOXATC from version 6.x to 7.42 costs $36.68. Radar Contract is great for free, but it doesn't even come close to either Pilot2ATC or VOXATC.

I have the prices of Pilot2ATC and ProATC switched, but my point about price still stands.

and with vox, you have a brilliant AI engine included ..... it is the only one i know that respects the limits / needs of your afcad tweaks.

maybe TJ needs to market it as such 😉 ... and offer ATC as an expansion pack for a small fee (say a dollar)

for now, cheers

Hey Jay. At present time what ATC would you recommend Vox or Pilot2ATC? I fly mostly VFR and in the UK (have several Cereproc UK voices) I have been away for some time from flying and am getting back in the game 🙂 Used Vox up until I left (7.42) and been using it for many many years prior. The Pilot2ATC developer seem more Active than Tegwyn these Days but still as far as I know Pilot2ATC does not Control your AI. What do you use yourself?  /Mike

I use both on a regular basis. I use P2ATC with XP11 and VOXATC with P3d4. The control of and communication with AI aircraft are features that I miss if I don't use VOXATC. But for VFR flying ATC isn't that detailed, so either would be a good choice. Both add-ons are significantly better than the other ATC products.

VOXATC is fairly reliable and technical support ends up being more related to trying to eliminate conflicts between VOXATC and 3rd party airports/aircraft. The tech support for P2ATC is excellent but to be honest, I've never needed to use it.

All this discussion points out is how MS better spend time on improving the ATC in MSFS 2020.

So there is a technical support ?

As I'm testing VOXATC at the moment (very good product, some pros and cons against P2ATC), after I read about lacking support, I fear to buy a weakly supported product that will not work with future update of P3D (4.6, 5, ...). Reasonable or not ?
