Alpha Registration Hangs on DXDiag?

Featured Replies

Hey folks.  Anyone else having issues signing up?  I filled out the insider survey and it just hangs uploading the dxdiag file.  I've tried multiple browsers now with no difference.  Anyone else experience this and have a possible fix?

Did you make sure you selected for the XML document type  before saving it as your DXDIAG file before upload?

Now that's a VERY good question.  I did it a few weeks back and can't remember so Ill have to just run through it again and see.  I have a suspicion I didnt, and I just renamed the file type...

Yes, thank you - I'm quite aware of the RTFM, The "Eye D Ten T" (ID10T) errors, and lets not forget everyone's favorite the PEBCAK (Problem exsists between chair and keyboard) errors.

I'm actually having issues with this and I'm even uploading it as an XML file.

I get an error message stating "error with upload".

EDIT: And just like that, I figured it out... Check your email and actually confirm your email address. It doesn't state that you even need to do that but this solved it

I've made sure I followed all these steps and it still hangs....

You made sure to export as XML direct from the tool?  My issue is I just renamed the file since I didn't realize/pay attention that there was a direct export.

So there’s my problem...win7 😞

Indeed.. It says Windows 10 on the Insider site, and, as the sim is to run on Windows 10, and not on an obsolete operating system...

I'm on WIN 10, saved it as XML, my account is confirmed and yet I still get error with upload...

So I see the 15th is the deadline, anybody know what time exactly? I might be cutting it close with a win10 upgrade and then sign-up.

Exactly 14:17:23 GMT
