Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 update

Featured Replies

I've received an email informing me that the 2.2 update for the SkySim MD-11 is available

Product link: https://www.justflight.com/product/sky-simulations-md11-v2

Details of the update 17/10/19

NEW PBR textures

NEW FMC vertical navigation added

NEW Aircraft Manager

UPDATED & UPGRADED MCP

FIXED autobrake knob

FIXED battery drain

FIXED steering handle animation

FIXED fuel readings standardisation

FIXED engines off sound

I've launched a ticket, only because I'm unsure of the following:

The exe for download is SKYSIM_MD11_v2_Setup.exe, not V2.2. When I try and run the file it says that I already have the software installed and should uninstall it and try again.

Is this a common thing for upgrades; a complete re-install?

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to seeing what the upgrades do. I mean I've never used the FMC properly to input all the data (Just loaded in a flightplan from the sim, created by onlineflightplanner).

Strange that Sky Sim never replied to any emails, but hey presto here's an update!

Uh.......exactly what does this have to do with FSX?  No PBR textures in FSX!  Does this topic need to be moved?  Never mind!  I see it's a duplicate of a topic in the P3D forum.  If this also applies to FSX, then I will remove the reference to P3D.

I think (hope!) the other updates function in FSX, Charlie:

Aircraft manager, upgraded MCP, VNAV, fuel tiller animation etc.

Ah, I should have been a tad clearer. My apologies, Charlie. I knew it had multi platform support.

Just downloaded the 2.2 update. FMC seems to not be working. Both pedestals and the center console don't have the FMC on them and the pop-up FMC is not showing up at all. Any idea why this could be the case?

No idea as yet, Catnip. I've not yet installed the update. I hope it hasn't broken FSX...

FSX didn't break. Just the FMC refuses to show up. Time to do some troubleshooting in the meantime...

Does the FMC come up with SHIFT 2 or 3? One of those brings up the FMC, the other brings up the 2d instrument display.

It doesn't show up by pressing SHIFT+2. it doesn't even appear on the VC where it should normally be.

EDIT: I'm gonna try the installer from Justflight and see if that makes a difference

EDIT 2: Justflight installer didn't make a difference

Hmm... Here's a possibly dumb question.. Sky Sim haven't introduced a power button have they? As in.. You have to switch on the FMC for it to work?

EDIT - No they haven't.

OK, I've got around to installing V2.2. I did delete the V2 install first. The FMC works as advertised on my rig..  sorry Catnip

The dome light works too, without my "workaround"

I'm not sure what Sky Sim mean by "Aircraft manager" - no extras appear to be present in FSX. I thought it was going to be something similar to PMDG's loading and fuelling manager, but I've not found anything like that so far..

Alrighty then. I'll continue troubleshooting to see if I can fix this.

Question: how big is your SkySimFMC.dll file? and how is it referenced in the panel.cfg?
