Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 update

Featured Replies

Okay, that's interesting because mine is identical to that. What version of Windows are you running? I run Windows 10 btw if you couldn't tell from the screenshot

EDIT: Hold on, I found something of interest:
https://forum.simflight.com/topic/73518-possible-solution-for-fsuipc-access-violation/

Apparently this also applies to other .dll files as well. I'll check this out later today to see what I can find

I'm on Win7 64bit Ultimate.... and I run full screen for what it's worth; no toolbar at the bottom.

Wouldn't that access violation display an error message of some kind?

Yeah true. I didn’t find anything in the registry either. And the interesting thing is the gauge is trusted by FSX. And I did the old “remove the trusted gauge entry from the fsx.cfg.” Didn’t do a thing.

What I might try then is completely uninstall the MD-11, remove the trusted gauge entries, restart my PC, redownload the installers, then attempt to reinstall.

Darn! I'm out of ideas, sorry.

BTW there is an aircraft manager - it's activated by SHIFT-4. I will amend my comment to there is NO aircraft manger if you want to FLY THE FREIGHTER! A complete oversight by SkySim when they offer both configurations..

Yeah I feel like they could have split the passenger and freighter models into different folders with slightly different panels to make things at least a bit nicer and more intuitive.

Like a SKYSIM MD11 Pax and SKYSIM MD11 Cargo folder setup

Yeah at this point i'm just gonna send an email to the Sky Simulations Support and see what they can come up with 😞

EDIT: I reinstalled the older version, and the FMC in that one works. So until I get a reply from Sky Simulations, I'll just be using that version

EDIT 2: Did some experimentation with transplanting the new FMC into the old version. The FMC didn't work, but it also required me to do another "trust this file?" entry. So I think the problem might be either a corrupted .dll or something on my end like a failure to load that .dll
Good to know

That's strange, Catnip. Fingers crossed you get it sorted out.

BTW - I'll be surprised if you get a reply from Sky Simulations. They did implement some of the errors I'd found: The tiller operates in the correct sense now, the dome light works.. but I never once got a reply or even an acknowledgement of my email. Good luck!

I think just as an interm solution, I'll use the old FMC alongside a freeware GPS until a more permanent solution can be found

I also got responds from them. At the very beggening when they released v2 i sent them e-mail asking to fix an idle taxi issue. They sent me a fix to test immediatelly and released SP1 fixing it right soon after.

WOW! Well, I am astounded. Perhaps someone from Sky Simulations is reading the comments on AVSIM? I cannot think why I did not get any response despite using the one for support on their website.

All I can say is well done Sky Simulations and at least other users are getting the support

Perhaps I should prevail upon one of you to send in my questions by proxy?
