Scenery Management

Featured Replies

I have a lot of Orbx scenery add ons - which I think are one of the causes of the delay loading P3D 4.5. My question is ' how should I organise my scenery?' - currently I just let P3D take care of it - but should I be doing something to manage it more efficiently?

Any tips or thoughts will be appreciated.

I would consider "grouping" your sceneries/airports/etc., so you are not loading all.  That way you are not loading up 3rd party add-ons where you have no intention in flying to for that day.  I used to do that for geographical regions like I would have all my airports for southern California in one group, Arizona airports in another and so on.  I believe there are several utilities that perform this function.  Surprised with so many Orbx airports they do not have this function?

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

I've just today grouped my Add-Ons and Areas with the Lorby-Si Addon Manager for P3Dv4. I can highly recommend it.
