Currently in order to have a descent flight simming experience you need to have some cash to spend (realistic weather, scenery, airports, ...). This may sound harsh and not friendly towards the current (excellent) add-on developers but I can only be excited by the fact that MS will now include a large number of features (that are currently not included) into it's stock version. I mean, we can't be expecting to pay for good weather, detailed scenery and etc? Imagine if you would have to pay for more detailed maps in Battlefield for example. thanks alot this is the reply i was expecting to get . I asked this here because some pilot friends and i had got into this conversation not too long ago and some that had never simmed before asked the question . for what we know now if you wanted detailed airports and weather you know you had to spend some extra money . this time looks like alot will be already on the first release . thanks again for the reply . We don't know much about the mesh resolution though. We may have to buy an addon to get a sharper one. We don’t have a clue about the interface with controllers ( FSUIPC, LINDA) and about how many airports will be included with details up to par with the present 3PD products. Again maybe some room for 3PD. What we know about the default aircraft is very limited (except that three look good). Same for flight planning. Also, we don’t have a clue about the cost (initial price, subscription) and may I add that the «smooth » (according to previewers) flights of the September presentation were made with a high end CPU and a 2080i under the hood. Talking of saving is premature IMHO. November 3, 20196 yr I agree with thread starter, that there will be less need for addons like landclass, regions, weather etc. but I'm sure there will be addons that will improve on default airports, ai traffic atc. etc, so we'll still be spending money to get the optimal experience. but a remark like "Well I can say I saved a bit of money since I kept waiting to jump from FSX to P3D and never made the jump." I think is silly, If we all did that we'll all still fly Flightsim 1 from 1982, because why jump to the next version cause the next version will probably be better. I've had all of the flightsims from FS1 to P3Dv4, and never regretted it one bit. Jorn Lundtoft I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do. November 3, 20196 yr The default airports are going to benefit from having accurate terminals and other buildings as the tech for building creation is the same used for dwellings and commercial structures. So what's left to fix at default airports? Moving jetways? More accurate apron markings? I don't see the market for add-on airports as a big item, like they are in P3d4 and XP11.
