I don't know where you're looking, but that's definitely not the MSRP.  Whatever you've found is merely price gouging.

Click on one of the retailer links at this site for much better pricing.

I was looking at CANADA computers Which I got my i9 9900k from as there is a store up the road from my house. I was going to exchange.
but not at that price.

The website I linked to is a Canadian website.  The prices are in Canadian Dollars.

Here, I took my own advice and clicked one of the links:

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B005404P9I/ref=asc_df_B005404P9I1572357600000/?tag=shopbotca-20&creative=395285&creativeASIN=B005404P9I&linkCode=df0

Price: $639.99 CANADIAN

If you're telling me there are another $200 in taxes on top of that price then that's an issue for you to take up with your elected officials.

This is true, many retailers haven't updated their listings yet.

The 9900KS is officially priced at the same point as the 9900K was.  The 9900K has seen a small price drop already, selling for ~ $489 USD at most online retailers.  I suggest you give it a day or two at least to see official listings for the 9900KS.

I'm sure overclockers with more time on their hands will push the chip much further than that.  Dry ice is not the best cooling medium for extreme overclocking, but it is cheaper and easier than LN2.

He will later I suspect he pushed an i7 7700k to 7.3ghz at a show in Taiwan a couple of years ago to set a record.
