Hi gents !  This is really pure joy:

After the release of  LFLJ Courchevel Airport  John Venema has announced the release of Courchevel's counterpart and adjoining altiport  LFKX Meribel situated  in the French Alps.

Taking John Venema at his word, he stated three hours ago:

This airport will be available imminently ....

  But I must correct him at one point, because he also said:

.....creating a lively atmosphere at this iconic destination, which has an equally challenging approach as its neighbour.

From the perspective of my own lifetime experience I must say, that the approach of Meribel is even more difficult, because this altiport is significantly worse to spot (particular during bad weather), compared to Courchevel.

The next X-Plane feature I really would like to have, is something like an Avatar or 3rd person mode like in P3D.  XPlane's sceneries are getting better and better, and I would really appreciate it if I could explore all this beauty in every detail.

Very nice, but....

The same Mesh will probably be used as in LFLJ, so you will still not be able to use:
- Alps part 1 photoreal
and scenery of neighboring airports, for example: LFHU (free and very nice), LFKR ...,
which use mesh from Ortho4XP.
Or maybe there will be options for choosing Mesh ??? 😉

You should take this one up with Laminar Research (although I'm sure they're well aware). The 1x1 tile limit is incredibly restrictive and complicates creativity and it's about time it was fixed

Unfortunately Laminar might take years to get around this, if ever.
Would it not be easier to create a patch to be used with Ortho4XP?

I wanted to buy LFLJ (and now Meribel) but without messing up everything else in the area.

I think the same. Several people have reported this problem in the ORBX forum, but it seems that ORBX will not do anything about it either.

Poopy did do a nice job on t free LFHU. There is hope that he will also do LFLJ and LFKX in the future.

There is a way to patch these two airports to work with your existing ortho, just google it.
