Strange issue with Flight1 GTN750

Featured Replies

Hi:

After a re-install of the latest version of GTN750 (GTN complete version) on my laptop I noticed a severe FPS drop (from a locked and stable 30, down to 10 FPS more or less) at each time an aircraft equipped with the GTN750 is loaded up in the sim. The workaround is to turn the avionics OFF and then to ON in order to force a restart of the GTN unit. Then, the FPS goes back to normal.

The A/V was disabled during the installation of the GTN and when running the sim it remains disabled. I also gave admin rights to the GTN Config Tool.

Posted this on the F1 forums yesterday, but so far I'm not getting any feedback from there.

Someone has already experimented something like this?. Any suggestions?.

Cheers, Ed

Hi Ed, I had this problem before and the fix was in the GTN settings (maybe in an ini file if there is one?).  I’m not in front of my computer right now but I think it had something to do with assigning cores.

I got help with this issue on the avsim forums so my thread should still be out there somewhere.

edit: not my thread but more info here

Hi Dave, thanks so much for your valuable input. I'm checking those CPU cores assignments to see if I can find a fix. Need to perform some testing, I guess.

Thinking back quite a way, but isn't the cores issue historic? I thought that was sorted a while ago. I certainly have not manipulated cores for F1-GTN for a long time now and don't have any problems with the product.

Correct, @SledDriver, according to the current manual, setting cores is not needed anymore and in the .ini, there is also no entry for this anymore.

Greetings, Chris

Tested several settings of the CPU cores, and the result remains the same, so I don't think the problem comes from the CPU assignments.

After doing several checks, the only way to recover from those very bad FPS upon loading a GTN750 equipped aircraft is to click over the battery or the avionics button/switch, to start turning the GTN OFF or ON, depending on the loading scenario (engines running or from a cold & dark situation). After that the FPS are up and normal again. Very weird to say the least.
