I have raised this as a problem in the past and thought it was corrected, but I am having trouble again. 

My example is if I fly from a Spanish airport to EGNT. EGNT appears to be a terrible weather problem in that I can't see anything up til the last moment (fog).  This has not been the case in real life.

The situation is:

• I am doing the sim at night, and therefore it is dark in the real world, good visibility
• The time and date is 1300 on 01/01/2019 when I carry out the sim flight
• The weather in the sim flight is daylight was it should be, but I have a serious problem because the visibility is extremely low due to the fog it has produced

It's like the sim it trying to lower your view using mist, because you are flying at night on the sim. I was, in the past, told to set Force Historic Time to Sim Time on Wx Control tab, but something is stopping  it from working.

I simply want to specify a time/day in P3D and see it correctly - fly correctly in that time.

Gary - To do this you simply select the "Wx Control" tab, then select "Historical Weather is Active" and then check the small box that says "Force Historical Time to Sim Time".  I do this all the time and it works as advertised.

I cab see the "Historical Weather Mode is Active", and the time is set in the past by 1 week. Also, that checkbox is checked. But it just leaves my destination thick

With ActiveSky set as discussed above, when you open P3D you should see the historical  "Weather Date and Time" window on the ActiveSky Wx Control tab update to show the current date and time you have set in P3D. 

You state that "time is set in the past by 1 week" but you said in your first post you are starting the sim with "The time and date is 1300 on 01/01/2019".  That is 11 months ago, not last week.  The date and time shown on ActiveSky's Wx Control tab with "Historical Weather Mode is Active" set should match the exact time you set in P3D.  Again make sure the ActiveSky "Force Historical Time to Sim Time" setting is checked.

Sorry, the date I meant to put in there was 01/11/19.

I'm not sure what the problem is though. Whenever I set it to it, the weather does not match what that checkbox says it should.  Its constantly fogged, in real life, it wasn't. 

AS reads the metar for that date and time. It then injects the weather according to that metar. What is the exact metar for that date/time at that location? That will tell you what you should see.

I'm sorry, I don't know what the program is thinking and putting its data. If it still had data in for 1 week ago, at the airport, its that something you can help me with?

Fixed wrong time of TAF

According to the screenshot Gary just posted, the date was November 27, 2019 not November 1 as I originally reported on. The TAF for this is:

I also notice from Gary's image that the weather being reported is for EGNM not EGNT. The TAF for EGNM was:

Which is roughly in line with the Active Sky banner notification but not the weather to be expected at EGNT.

To be honest, if I stop P3Dv4 after the flight (VERY foggy) at EGNT, then restart it, the weather is completely different - cold but reletively clear. Even though the time and dates are the same. 

Well, I can't recreate your issue. I did the following:

1. Set historical Wx control to November 27, 2019.
2. Checked the 'Force Historical Time to Sim Time',
3. StartedP3D
4. Selected Active Sky for weather
5. Used the default F-22
6. Set the airport to EGNT on the active runway
7. Set the time to 13:40 UTC

I get a foggy day at the airport.

I then shut P3D down and restarted as above.

I get a similar foggy day.

(I took images but they are not too interesting. I can post them if you like.)

I would look at the Options -> Visibility Options in ActiveSky as my next action.
