Thoughts on 2 recently released airports

Featured Replies

LatinVFR Madrid LEMD was released recently, any thoughts and comparisons to the three or four competitors? Is the newest terminal really made of aluminum as shown in their pictures?

Secondly, is JetStream Paris Orly any good...looks like it was updated last week.

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated, Darryl

I'm not a big airport fan but Jetstream Designs is slowly taking his seat among my best scenery developper with FlyTampa, or FlightBeam. Version 1.2 of LFPO added mainly the 07/25 new refurbished runway. I read a lot of great supporting feedbacks.

The new 07/25 runway :

... some new buildings for "Musée Delta" :

... and a new W32 taxiway :

Thanks for pictures and commentary.

Jetstream Design, in general, I think is a fantastic developer. Their airports breath life. They just feel so realistic to me, and LFPO, being the most recent release, is breathtaking to me. I really love it.

As for LatinVFR LEMD, I bought it on their sale, coming from the Simwings version but haven't loaded it up yet to take a look. My feeling is that latinVFR has really become a strong developer with some beautiful releases. and LEMD certainly looks great. But, can't say for sure how good it actually is just yet. I can post back when I have had a look, but it may be a few days/weeks.

LEMD is LatinVFR's best airport scenery to date.

There's *a lot of detail* and at $19.99 during the current sale, I think it is an absolute bargain.

Things to note:
- Textures on majority of buildings, especially T4 and T4S are very good
- A considerable amount of photoscenery surrounding the airport has been included
- There is modelling of the nearby Barajas suburb and the office towers at the north side of the city
- Mesh is very good
- Lots of animated vehicles and little touches such as a few weeds/grass growing on taxiways
- Taxiway markings, apron textures and rain puddles are excellent (IMO).

- Scenery is heavy on performance. On my PC, FPS can drop to 23 on approach, maintains 26 on ground
- Dynamic reflections need to be on at least 'low' for PBR textures to show properly
- There are flickering textures on some buildings located at the edge of the airfield
- I get some shimmering and moire on T4 buildings when not up-close
- T2 textures feel a bit flat
- Grass changes with seasons, but displays as flat tiles (no 3D grasses).

LatinVFR Madrid LEMD is on sale and it's excellent. Get it! You will not regret it.

Jetstream is one of the best airport devs for FSX/P3D. I recommend all the airports because they are all worth the full price. They do go on sale often, but if you want Paris Orly now, you will certainly be happy with your purchase even at regular price.
