PFPX support

Featured Replies

Support by Christian Grill to PFPX appears to be completely inactive. No future development plans have been announced.☹️

May we have an update by AVSIM about why they continue to list PFPX as an available product without there being any product support for it (other than by Steven Cooke)?

Cheers, Richard

AVSIM cannot be constantly checking with developers to find out if they are active or not.  We rely on Members like you to provide us the information.  Now, if I can only find out where on AVSIM where we have listed PFPX as still available....

Professional Flight Planner X as a product sold across a number of retail outlets but it is not being " Sold " by Avsim , we do not have a support forum or an advertising campaign for the company , how are we doing the disservice of which you speak ? , are your expectations are that the company be publically denigrated for poor service by us on the front page?  .

From my read of the situation you are having issues with their service , I understand your frustration but realistically were we to report as News every issue users have with their product purchases we would be doing nothing else.

What precisely are Avsim's Staff expected to do with your complaint ?

Actually, there was an update to PFPX about a year ago. I’ve had no problems with it requiring support, so am not sure where it stands in terms of ongoing support by the developer.

Even if it is no longer being actively developed, the product as it currently exists does the job it is intended to do, so why should vendors not still sell it?

The online server that allows one to upload current weather and NAT tracks into the program is still operational, so somebody, somewhere, is continuing to support that aspect of the software.

It’s a mature product that I continue to use on every simulated flight. Certainly the popularity of Simbrief, which is a free service that offers many of the same capabilities as PFPX, may be a major factor in why the developer may not planning to do further updates to PFPX.

Since the product was originally developed and marketed by Aerosoft, their forums would the best place to inquire.

My mistake! I was confusing avsim with aerosoft. Apologies.
