December 26, 20196 yr I find this quite, quite aggravating to say the least. Every time I land at night at VABB, even with a ground temperature of 24C, the approach to the Runways, e.g.09, is always shrouded in dense fog that the Runway is barely visible. Sim:P3Dc4.4+Active Sky for P3Dv4+PMDG 737-800+AivlaSoft. EFB2 Is there a default setting despite choosing Historical Whatever that causes this vexing issue and totally screws up flights? Rick Almeida
December 27, 20196 yr Sure sounds like you have some custom weather defined for that area in ASP4. Fog isn't just a function of temp, though...it occurs when temp and dewpoint are within a few deg C of each other with very light to calm winds. December 27, 20196 yr This might be helpful, not sure as I'm an FSX user. Thanks, Bob, but have no Custom weather selected for anywhere, any airport, any route. I just enter the flightplan saved from either Simbrief or PFPX and let Active Sky do the rest, but at every night time landing into Mumbai, in particular, an airport I know only too well in real life, I always get dense fog that completely obscures the runway, in this case, 09 lights, that totally screws the approach. 12 hours ago, HighBypass said: This might be helpful, not sure as I'm an FSX user. Seasons Greetings to you. Through you we still live the MD-11 dream🤣 Rick Almeida
December 27, 20196 yr Evidently the visibility is always worse then reported at BOM. Lots of haze and smoke from fires that people light living around the airport. Situation normal when landing at Mumbai!!!!

We don't seem to get any screenshots from other people still flying PMDG's MD-11, or indeed any freeware MDs. I still have it in a boxed DVD and one day, hope when the new rig finally gets finalised, to run P3Dv4 as well as FSX, if feasible. I bought the SkySim version for FS9 or FSX, not entirely sure, way back in 2007, and having followed the P3D upgrade missing bits here via you and other posters, decided to give it a miss. Pity PMDG have steadfastly refused to go down that road again☹️ Rick Almeida

But not being able to see the runway threshold or lights until far too late to flare is a tad too much fog, methinks.🤣 Rick Almeida
December 27, 20196 yr Sometimes I think wx programs have a hard time injecting weather correctly. Just view it as the BOM challenge on approach! Edited December 27, 20196 yr by Doug47
