Any idea why I suddenly have problems inserting a screen shot into my thread? Screenshots are hosted on my own domain and I've posted probably hundreds so far. This time I'm getting the 'Pinko'** treatment.

** Where the address line goes pink. All my existing screen shots are still up so you must still be talking to finnglish.co.uk

Hello Ron,

this one is a random choice from my Postimage account and it seems to be working. I posted this direct link https://i.postimg.cc/85XhVYBV/1.jpg and the forum automatically showed the picture.

You could, as an experiment, copy the link and see if the forum will let you post my image?

Why not?

So it seems. I'm starting to think that AVSIM have suddenly taken exception to http://

Why all of a sudden?

Thanks for dropping by Reader.

P.S. In my 421C thread it allowed a LINK to the same URL but not insert the picture.

*Sigh*

Ron,  I just fixed your 2 images in the 421C thread.  I know both Jim and Brian (AVSIM tech) were looking at this topic, so maybe an answer is forthcoming.

Ron,

Embedding an image from another hosting site is working for me.  Appears to be a problem your end.

What did you do Chas?

EDIT: It's OK, I see what you did.

Not since 48 minutes ago. I'll try again.

No, still in the pink. My belief is that someone has disabled downloads from http sites and only allow from httpS sites. What this means to me is that I have to buy an SSL certificate which will mean my domain will become https, which in turn will wipe all my pictures from everywhere!

Hello Ron, your original link is an http and does work, for me at least.

This one: http://www.finnglish.co.uk/scrns/vpybefore.jpg, if I post it into the topic,

turns into the picture below. Perhaps its just you, or more likely your browser. Who knows?

Ron,

Did you clear your cache?  It is strange you are not able to post.  We do have html turned off because of security concerns.  But others, like Reader above, has been able to post from an html site.  Like Reader stated, it could be your browser's security.

Cleared cache, still no joy. I'll prod and poke around. Jim, are we confusing html with https?

EDIT:

Yes. 😕  Can I blame it on the chemo treatments?  Glad you were able to get it fixed.
