January 5, 20206 yr I find, that 4.5x is the most smooth animation so far, of any version of P3D since it came out. That is the biggest, most stand-out in-your-face, difference. Nothing more truly stands out, as an 'oh'..or 'wow' notation. Thirdly, I do believe that there were some Shader reworks, resident, because (as least to my eyes and preference of visuals) the water surface (clutter and sophistication when using the ULTRA water setting) seems much less pronounced within 4.5x as it did (and much more to my preference as a 'water guy'...) within 4.4x That's about it...nothing too, too outstanding (at least to myself as the user) to write home about. Nothing bad...just not any 'wow...that's cool' entries. I do have a question though....for the first time, I used Orbx's CENTRAL 4 'Library' feature to place downloaded titles onto a separate drive. P3D 4.5x at first run opened a screen and asked me if (which was all the airports and Regions I had sent to the Library) if I wanted to Add them On...to show up in the ADD On list, such as where my GSX/GSX2, Accu-Feel, etc was also asked to be added on. Within the program, only the GSX and Accu-Feel is properly there, for the program controls and sub menus...not any of the listed Orbx titles that are now on my P: drive. Is this normal..or has something screwed up, with Central 4 sending them to its off-resident location which is my P: drive? Please someone let me know...and if it is wrong...that P3D should not have asked me if I wanted them added on as Add-On's...(which I said yes..with each click)....is there something I can do to correct this? Thanks in advance, folks! Edited January 5, 20206 yr by Sesquashtoo
January 5, 20206 yr There were long discussions at the ORBX's forums about placing the existing global packages, regions and individual airports, in a library residing outside the P3D root folder. I would recommend taking a look at their forums, so you get a more complete picture. I prefer and would recommend not to migrate any airport or region that is already installed in the P3D root (the global packages including the openLC cannot be migrated anyway, most of them, if not all, and I'm not sure about which can or cannot). I only have installed so far one airport in the on-purpose created library outside the sim (not buying really much from ORBX lately), to avoid having the tons of issues other users had after having done a migration. Even ORBX does not recommend to migrate them. One last word: be cautious with this. ORBX Central to me is still buggy as it messes up the scenery layers (both, the ones created by the conventional scenery.cfg and the ones created by the not so new addon.xml method) after you install, uninstall or update any ORBX product. Have at hand the Lorby-SI Addon Organizer to assist you in re-ordering the layers after each modification done with ORBX Central. Thank you to you and everybody else... Ed..tried downloading the Lorby Si Addon Organizer...and the download was blocked...as a virus was detected within the coding, or .zip file.... If you're downloading it from the Lorby SI website I don't think you should be worried about the warning. I've never had an issue with their downloads, but I must admit I've always have my Kaspersky A/V turned OFF (and also the Windows Defender). The Addon Organizer (P4AO) to me is a must have add-on. It allows you to do a lot of things in a safe way, even to place all your add-ons airports in Google Map if you wish. Thanks in advance, folks! When a scenery, aircraft or utility product is added using the xml method, P3D asks the user if it should be activated. Once the user answers Yes, the product appears in the in game add-ons menu. However, this is not the add-ons menu accessed using the add-ons tab but the add-ons menu accessed via the Options/Add-ons tabs.

Quite the same, here at this end. 10 year old system...all Graphic sliders maxed out, water at Ultra...and even at 10 FPS (mostly at 27-30) if the sim drops to that,...no stutter whatsoever. That is simply amazing..I can have the sim rendering full hot out...(not caring any longer about FPS readings) and the sim glides along. So...to myself, more guts tuning, than glitter eye candy went into 4.5x. Quite happy with it...and the sim looks gorgeous all Graphic and feature sliders at warp speed....-----------------------------------------------------------------------> (smile).
