Update trainer using real world data on sd card?

Featured Replies

Hi,

TL;DR you should be able yes.

Basically this just involves copying the files from the SD card to the hard drive (for convenience) and then either replace the ones included with the GTN trainer, or, use an environment variable to override the files paths (see RXP GTN User's Manual).

how to? there is a dedicated discussion mostly for the GNS V2 with some infos pertaining to the GTN (and many other posts to search for in this forum too):

If I have an SD card with the latest database can I use the files to update the Garmin Trainer on my computer? Sorry about the newbie question thanks.

The GTN navdata can be found/replaced in:

C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases

and the file you want, is called nav_db2.bin
