Any good software for maps in VC view? P3Dv4.5

Featured Replies

Any idea or suggestions for good maps in VC view in VR mode?

So it must works as Simconnect view/window or 2D panel (for example with shortcut Shift+9 or something similar). It could be software for static maps only (not moving maps), not like in GPS.

Payware or free tool.

What headset? If Rift, the Rift Home software has that functionality natively. No software needed.

I have the rift S, Oculus home will let you create any custom windows and pin in vr space like your desktop, you have to scale it before to fit inside the cockpit.

Right now in Prepar3D there is no a good implementation of VR, in other sim there is more feature like interacting with Oculus Controller Touch etc.

To solve the problem without destroying the immersion or realistic feeling of being in a real cockpit I restricted flying in VR to a handful of planes with a EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) like the latest PMDG 737 who can show every pdf file you made or the TFDi Boeing 717-200 with the integrated "Tablet"  who can show graphical files in jpeg or bmp.

I also have a couple of GA planes with In-Dash integration (or Mods to replace a default G1000) with the Flight1 Garmin GTN750 so I can read and view the charts and maps and additional info on it.

Although I can read all the charts and airport info in the GTN750 there was still a demand to upload other info in it as a list of VATSIM frequenties because they not always use the exact same "real world" frequenties as published on the Jeppessen charts so I created in the GTN750  "Checklist Maker" a new group for it and is also very good readable in VR.

Happy landings....

I'll try this but personally I prefer something like pop up in P3Dv4 directly as 2D panel:
