  • It started its life as AutoATC is a "chatbot" using Text to Speech and Speech to Text To simulate, practice and test aircraft radio communication. That was written before I got my PPLH, You'll

  • yeah, there is still a bit of tuning to do there, but the autogenerated route maps have come a long way and gets made worse because it runs at ultra low bandwidth (1 data frame in 5 sec

  • The creator of that thing, @mSparks is around here. When he is not busy finding flaws in the new MSFS2020, he can probably tell you everything you wanna know. As any feedback is appreciated, here

On a side note, @mSparks, please consider making your product available for MSFS 2020 too...

In my interest, I would love to see Auto-ATC competing with the existing products. I presently use Beyond ATC, beta, and FSHUD (this one doesn't presently use an AI engine ), but there's surely room for a good ATC and if possible AI Traffic injector too...

Its not that I haven't considered it, around 2019 it was looking a lot like dev would switch to msfs, there is still an open offer to anyone who wants to port the traffic plugin to ms to take 90% of whatever they can sell it for. Ive posted that once or twice on the FS dev discord - response - crickets.

Although I kinda understand that, ms numbers look weak, already a crowded market, and I guess anyone with experience is struggling and as such not really looking for new project risk to take on. But if you know anyone...

I do expect most if not all of the new pay lots monthly lot to drop out, we have the benefit of insanely low running costs (basically free because running AutoATC on the multi agent platform doesn't add anything to bills we already pay), vs those paying a fortune for openai tokens on top of the other server costs - e.g. aws is a joke, $100+ a month for the compute of a raspberry pi. Looks like there is a pretty big bubble in AI brewing up. fun.

So I dont really know what "next developments" looks like. The ACARs stuff it adds to the 744 is already way ahead of what people are searching for, majority just seem happy to start it up and successfully land it.

The core value it offers is also VR - where other offerings are simply unusable, I suspect the numbers of VR users in MS is actually less than X-Plane.

What is definitely next - finally - is more videos like that last one to actually tell people about it - using the app - using the app with xplane - using the app with xplane in VR to demonstrate all the different phases of ATC comms during flight. everything finally working well enough - and unlikely to change much visually any time soon, to actually make that a worthwhile exercise [in futility].
