February 2, 20206 yr Hi there. Well i got a BSOD today after downloading DDU uninstaller and removing GPU driver in safe mode. After the restart it went in to safemode again so i had to restart again but this time with a Winload.exe error. Not seing this before so now i am recovering from a system build. Any one else who has experienced this? Is it not safe to use DDU? Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe
February 26, 20206 yr I have had a lot of bad experiences with DDU and do not recommend it. The only solution to my situation was to do a restore. February 26, 20206 yr On the few occasions I’ve had to use it, I’ve never had a problem with DDU. That said, I’ve always seen it as a last resort if a driver’s having problems. I generally just use the “clean install” option for the new drivers. March 2, 20206 yr When using DDU you have to select a set of files you want to de-install. By default DDU (at least its older version) could wipe out a lot of stuff including MB and sound drivers.Yes, I had this trouble as well and I'm continuing to use DDU, but with extreme precaution 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
September 27, 20223 yr Author Omg , i did it again 😞 , i downloaded a new DDU un-installer and got the BSOD error windows/winload32.exe. Cant get it to work so hopefully it will only set me back 2 month with a imagebuild. Michael Moe Michael Moe
September 28, 20223 yr Author Unfortunally my imagebuild was to old to have MSFS2020 SU10 working (installed on another ssd than C) . Could not start it within the xbox app so had to start all over again with MSFS + addons. Lesson learn . Have backups up to date. Michael Moe Michael Moe
