February 17, 20206 yr I'm living in a different world now. I haven't completely dropped out but I am drifting back to a past that was more comfortable for me. Thanks to Turner Classic Movies (I watch 1 or 2 a night) I am taken back to a more familiar world and people whose names I know. Last night I watched The Philadelphia Story with Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. The movie was released in 1940 and I kept thinking to myself, "Jimmy, you have no idea what's in store for you. You're going to become a bomber pilot and a general in the Air Force Reserve." This evening's fare is "GiGi with Leslie Caron,Louis Jordan and Maurice Chevalier." I know they don't say f*** 157 times but I can live with that. I know I'm becoming senile, but I seem to be happier that way. -- Noel Kilroy was here! The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

I thoroughly agree - not about the movies - which I also watch ---- but I have recently re-installed FSX steam and download all the old aircraft pre and just post (45/56) that are freebies on Fly Away Simulations. I have found that I don't care as much whether or not the plane has only 2D panels - as long as they are steam gauges - not glass ---and take off and land - Also Flight Sim has some very good payware representation's of WW11 Bombers such as the B17 - Halifax and the Lancaster - and I wonder if the 20 year old pilots of today's super jets could handle one flying these big beasts around in the dark with minimum nav equipment as their grandfathers did JFI - try taking one 4 engine Lancaster from Britain's East Anglia and find your way to Berlin in the dark ignoring the lighted Europe We haven't been able to do that since Microprose B17 and that was in the daylight. I too saw the skunk film last week - I didn't realise that it was Lockheed until then BTW - I sink the Bismarck 3 different ways each week in Steam's Atlantic Fleet and the Bismarck hasn't sunk the HMS Hood once😀
