FSDG Bodrum Lite : if you have it can you test the ILS ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

With this airport I am guided between both runways when following the ILS. I have checked in the airport / runways/gates menu and see runway 11 and runway 29.   This has to be runway 10L and runway 28R.

I have contacted Torsten and he showed a screenshot of FSX with the default 737 and the 2 pink ILS diamonds matched the runway of the addon Bodrum. Reinstalling the scenery does not solve it. No other airport I have and flew to has this behavior, Looking in the addon Afcad it shows runways 10L and 28R for ILS.

How come that P3Dv4, as it seems, only sees the default Afcad file and not the addon Afcad file ? I have no traffic packages with Afcad files active. I only use the aircraft with PSXT. The default NavAid datbase is updated to 2-2020. But did not fix it either.

P3Dv4 only sees the stock Afcad. The addon Afcad looks correct.

All suggestions are welcome...

Sorry I can't help Gerard - I don't know enough about this stuff.

I did suffer an equally annoying problem after reinstalling P3D and all my add-ons.

After I installed fsAerodata, the jetways at UK2000 Heathrow started crawling across the airport like giant caterpillars.  And no, I hadn't been on the herbal jazz cigars.

Have you done a search with ADE for conflicting AFCAD`s, have you run makeRunways in P3D.

Hi Ray,

No, I did not searched for conflicting Afcads . As none of my other 30+ addon airports has an issue .

Beside the addon Bodrum Afcad filr there only exists the stock APX file.

I will have ADE test the addon Afcad for errors.

Something is preventing P3Dv4 from using the addon Afcad file...

Assume you use fsaerodata as you said the default navdata was updated, perhaps I misunderstood !

This from the P3d forum explains some of the issue

https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=135117

Essentially since P3d 4.5 HF2, FSaerodata must sit below all addons because LM changed something, otherwise scenery gets displaced which "may" be the reason your ILS is corrupt

Just to add, this bug is not specific to FSaerodata, it can be reproduced with other sceneries wherever the 3rd party scenery contains a revised altitude value

The default NavData has been updated yes. But with the updated Magvar data from aero.sors.fr

But I do not have altitude issues. And I have also tried putting Bodrum at the top of the library ( in Addon Organizer ).

And if the new data is causing this then why only with Bodrum ?

Tomorrow I will check for duplicates first. Then I will check where the FsAerodata is in the library.

Thanks for all help ...

Use little nav map to see whats getting loaded from the scenery to rule out duplicates  https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap.html

And this bug doesnt just skew the mesh, it actually displaces objects form their designed lat/long, its pretty complex but some people are seeing runways not aligning with the start position declared in p3d

The ILS data comes from the stock : heading = 288° (ILS 28R 108.7 MHz)

Heading 282° should be better (indicated in the GTN 750).

(Use ADE to install the ILS in LFTE_AFD_v8.bgl.)

That I will try tomorrow . I already was thinking of an Afcad tweak..

The addon Bodrum uses a heading of 288 while the Prosim CDU is using the correct 282.

But if in the P3D airport menu only runway 11 and 29 are visible then to me it looks like P3D isn’t seeing the addon Bodrum Afcad at all.

And why is that ?

Your screenshot is not very sharp. Is that the FSDG Bodrum or the stock version.

Abd what shows the P3D airports / runways / gates menu ?

Here only te 11 / 29 which is stock.

Just took out the APX55180.bgl file which contains the stock Bodrum too. I had P3D rebuilt the scenery indexes for sure.

However, in the P3D Airport menu Bodrum still exists with the 11/29 runways and all parking spots...

But in the P3D Navigation / Map menu it shows runways 10L and 28R ...   And that is coming from the addon Afcad.

Why can that be ?

I have tried to run Simple Airport Scanner but that one does not work with P3Dv4. Only up to P3Dv3.
