February 21, 20206 yr I have already posted a spec once, however I have looked again and decided to increase my budget, this is what I am now looking at. I will be using Prepar3d version 4, your comments will be appreciated. February 21, 20206 yr Personally, I'd be waiting for FS2020 to come out. If you do go ahead, you need to change the RAM to at least 3200mhz stuff P3D v4.5 MSFS2020 Hisense 50" 4K TV Ryzen 9600x 64gb DDR5 6000mhz, Asrock B650m HDV/M.2 Gigabyte 16gb 9070XT, Thermalright Aqua Elite 240mm 2TB NVMe Boot/FS2020 Drive, 2TB NVMe P3D Drive. February 21, 20206 yr If you intend to overclock the 9700K, and you really should, the 120 series AIO cooler will hold you back. Look at a 240 series AIO at a minimum. Greg
February 22, 20206 yr I'd take a hard look at whether you really want Optane memory in that config, too. February 22, 20206 yr Author @ wgkd - I agree about the Optane, I know understand exactly what it is and what it does. February 24, 20206 yr Author Figured that as I will be running P3D V4 that this is probably the best place to post as it targets P3D users. I've listed the spec of my build below, I will be using it for Flight Simulation with Prepar3D. I have just the monitor to buy, funds are limited due to putting my money in to the new pc. Whats your thoughts on this monitor with my setup? I will be using a smaller monitor for aircraft GPS. February 24, 20206 yr The CPU cooler is pretty underwhelming...a single 120mm radiator is not enough to cool an overclocked 9700K...and if you're spending the $$ on a Z390 board and a 9700K you'll want to get that CPU running at 5+ GHz. You can get away with a 650W PSU, but I'd use at least a 750W. I don't like pushing up close to the PSU's rated output. What latency on the RAM? At 3000 MHz, CAS 15 is average, and CAS 16+ is slow bargain basement binned stuff. A 4K monitor is a big order for a 2070 Super. 4K will load up your video card pretty hard...really, you'd be better off sticking with UHD (2560x1440) below a 40" screen size. I merged this thread with your previous one. Do not post duplicate threads across multiple forums. February 24, 20206 yr I have to agree with Bob re the cooler choice and PSU. Don't skimp on those. Maybe get yourself a 1440p monitor rather than the 4K one and use the money saved to invest in better cooling and power. edit: You could also save on the full tower expense. Not really necessary unless you're planning massive expansions further on down the line. Cheers!
