Copilot needed

Featured Replies

Hi

I know there is a discussion about this somewhere, but I'm just not sure. Someone advised me not to use the p3d autopilot, and gave a recommendation. I used that recommendation and had problems, but want to try it again. Does anyone know what that software could be? I can see it could be be FS2Crew, but I'm sure that's a lot more complex than the initial one I tried).

How does Moses make his coffee? Hebrews it.

I took the shell off my racing snail, thinking it would make him run faster. If anything, that made him more sluggish.

P3D doesn't have an autopilot, the aircraft that you are flying does.

What recommendation was that?

FS2 Crew isn't an autopilot.

Gaz, I think you'll need to be much more specific if you can in order for someone to help you.

Your message is a little confusing; however, I'll reply based on your subject alone.  If you're looking for a copilot, there are three I'm aware of:

1. Fs2crew*

*unlike the other two options, you need to purchase this software for each plane you own...

2. Multi Crew Experience (MCE)

3. Flight Simulator First Officer (FSFO) Pro Edition:

And don't forget the good old (free) Radar Contact v4.

I think I've used that in the past, and there was stuff to enjoy in it, but when I watch the videos, it looks complicated (I've had to rebuild p3d on my own again - but I still have the install files - not installed yet).

I'm guessing option 2 might be best. The software I used before made it very simply and I think more realistic.

In addition to what was said, the Aerosoft A318/319/320/321 Pro have a co-pilot function as an option you can turn on or off in the settings FMC pages.

The co-pilot will run thru the checklists etc. at various phases of flight, and it works well.

And finally one more thing.  Pilot2ATC (it's an ATC addon program) has an option where your co-pilot can give many of the responses to ATC, like a real co-pilot might do.  "Delta 5525 climb to flight level 350"...and the co-pilot will respond "climbing to flight level 350, Delta 5525".  It does take the load off of you, the pilot flying.   At first I didn't like not having control, but now I realize that in real life many of these aircraft aren't flown alone.  So now I delegate what I can, in the appropriate aircraft.

Yep, of love to use it. I just need the time now!

Thanks for getting back to me.
