Not just that, but maybe making the font larger would help? Unless you're in a hurry you shouldn't be misclicking links. I don't spend all day in one forum on Avsim, I check back at random times, often multiple times per day, as I'm sure most others do here as well.

The answer is simple. (I'm not trying to come off rude here but I probably will regardless). Rather than try and make a forum-wide change for your convenience, fix the problem directly. Decrease the DPI of your mouse, or scale your monitor up. Or just zoom in the webpage more. On Firefox, and, if I remember correctly, Chrome, it saves your preferences based on website. Or, get a 5-button mouse - in browsing, I can use the two thumb buttons to quickly go forward and back in pages, so if I do misclick, it takes literally no time to go to the previous page. Word of warning, though, most 5-button mice are gaming ones - I don't mind that, in fact I like it, but somebody else might mind. Edited April 7, 20206 yr by Concodroid

A "forum-wide change" You mean a change to a single sub-forum which sees virtually no traffic, except for right now because I made this thread? Also, I dunno about you but I have more devices than I can shake a stick at. I probably browse this site from my phone more than any of my (several) PCs. Additionally, lowering the mouse DPI won't fix the problem. Once a person has decided to interact with an interactive UI element, a slow mouse pointer, the decision has already been made and the interaction will take place. At the time of this post, this thread will be the most popular thread on this forum in 4 years. A thread whose premise is to make this wholly useless forum more difficult to accidentally interact with, by whatever means the admins deem appropriate (I have laid out several suggestions). Dude, it's just you having this problem. Be more careful where you move your mouse. If it isn't just you, the other people misclicking don't really care and just go back, it's not a big deal. Besides, it doesn't matter how popular it is, it'll be useful when people want to go back and see what Flight was like. And if they move it, chances are you'll mis-click on the next lowest link. Again, sorry if I come off as rude.

Again, sorry if I come off as rude. I'm not seeking to ruin anyone's day, however it's quite clear that this forum serves virtually no purpose, and it has a negative (if small) impact by its presence and placement in the forum list. Other legacy sims like the Fly and Flight Unlimited series have their forums in a different section farther down the forum listing. I submit that the best location for this forum would be in that group. I understand that with the current forum naming convention this forum is in the correct place, but a simple change to said naming convention would address that. If the current "Microsoft Flight Simulators" forum group were renamed to something like "Microsoft Flight Simulators (modern)" and the group to which I suggest this forum be moved were renamed simply "Legacy Flight Simulators", this would address my stated concern as well as a potential naming convention issue.

Really the only problem I have is making it harder for anyone to find it. Honestly, a more modern UI would work, and we could order it in most active rather than just names.
April 8, 20206 yr Legacy Flight Simulators You make a good argument, sir! Far better than misclicking on a link. April 9, 20206 yr You could hit the report button on that thread/post which would certainly flag it up. April 9, 20206 yr Author I think to get the full context they would need to read this thread first so I'm not sure reporting that post is the best way to go about it. Thanks for the suggestion though. I don't know Avsim's internal processes so if a mod cares to chime in that would be great.
