Boeing 747 SP addon for FSX

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I was on the prowl for an add-on aircraft model of the B747SP, similar in quality and cockpit complexity to Captain Sim, PMDG and Qualitywings aircraft. I have been searching with no success. Any suggestions (both payware and freeware) will be appreciated.

Cheers,

G

Your only option is the iFly 747; I can’t recall if the BCF service pack is for FSX or just P3D

The only payware B747SP I know of for MS Flight sim was as part of the additional expansion pack which was for for AeroSim's Classic Liners Volume 1. The expansion pack included a VC-25 (i.e. Air Force 1) and a 747SP. It's really pretty old nowadays and wasn't that great even back then and I don't think it would work in FSX. And it isn't cheap either. So unless you desperately want an SP and are prepared to spend a lot for a not especially great one and use it in FS2004, then that's not much use.

Just Flight have a B747-100/200 in development for P3D which is looking quite detailed and they have mentioned that they may consider doing an SP variant for it but they made no promises on that score and it isn't going to be for FSX anyway if they do get around to making one. So I think you are out of luck for an SP for FSX.

For a 747SP there is nothing with the level of detail you want. If you want something close, and you want it now, you'll need to go to FS9, learn how to merge aircraft and try merging the 747 SP from Project Opensky with the RFP panel. I'm not sure it would work in FSX, though.

If you're not willing to leave FSX, the closest option would be merging the CLS 747 HD VC with the Posky 747 model (if there´s one for FSX). However, the systems would be CLS level... meaning lite.

Hi Luis, thank you for the kind suggestion. I used to fly the Posky 747SP in FS9. I enjoyed those days.

Thank you, Chock. I think it would be best to wait until something comes out for the new MS Flight Simulator.
