April 16, 20206 yr Supposedly we need to manually install simconnect into P3d v5, but how do i know which installer to use? there are several. I am also having trouble installing SODE. I feel like a complete novice right now. Cheers, Pete Pete Solov - Lake in the Hills 3CK and Schaumburg Regional 06CProud AOPA Member - PPL 2001Real World Piper Cherokee Pilot

April 16, 20206 yr SODE can be downloaded and installed from here: https://sode.12bpilot.ch/?page_id=9 It should prompt you to register it in v5 at the end of the install. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT
April 16, 20206 yr Author Well, I installed every simmconnect.exe I can find. Unfortunately, I have tried several times to install SODE (the latest version) and I get an error every time. I know there is a problem because I installed Orbx ESGG and have missing jetways. I am getting to a point where I may just have to get a refund, as I am having way more problems than I anticipated. Also, I tried to install Traffic Global and got an error each time, even though it appears to install correctly. And why is this necessary please? Thanks. Rick
April 16, 20206 yr Author I saw someone mentioned this on a forum, but I honestly don't remember which one (could be BS I suppose). I think SODE is the problem right now for me, I have no idea what the problem is though. Did you, by chance, have ORBX install SODE? In Central, one of the products you can install is SODE. You might also want to try and open the SODE Platform Manager, which can typically be found in c:\program files (x86)\12bPilot\SODE (I think, not in front of my sim right now); if it is already installed, you may just need to register it. 27 minutes ago, paddler said: Where does it state that it is required to install simconnect into P3Dv5? Rick Some individual addons might require a specific legacy simconnect module and, if so, they typically indicate that, and which one is required, in the installation instructions. LM includes all the legacy simconnect modules in the Prepar3d v5 folder under the 'redist' folder. They are simconnect.msi install packages. It is not required out of the box for v5 to work. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

April 16, 20206 yr Author When I try to register SODE here is the error: "The registry holds an invalid path to your Prepar3d." I have never seen this before. Cheers, Pete Pete Solov - Lake in the Hills 3CK and Schaumburg Regional 06CProud AOPA Member - PPL 2001Real World Piper Cherokee Pilot

Cheers, Pete If you downloaded 1.68 there shouldn't be a problem unless you have some fake path like I do for V3 - that basically acts for some old sceneries and installers I use. But than just click ignore and carry on. Also once you open you should have V5 there....I just did 10 min ago Alex
