May 3, 20242 yr Moderator @mort78, can you open the configuration utility? There should be a shortcut on your desktop. If you can take a screenshot. Ray (Cheshire, England). May 3, 20242 yr Moderator The install path looks okay. Let's check the Registry. Press Windows key + R. In the dialogue box enter regedit. Locate the following folder:- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LockheedMartin\Prepar3D v4 If that folder doesn't exist that's the problem. If it does check for the following entries... License = Academic SetupPath = C:\P3Dv5 That path will be different for you. It's where the Prepar3D.exe is located. Check and report back. Ray (Cheshire, England). May 3, 20242 yr Moderator @mort78, Remove that \ at the end of the path. Did you set that path before installation or after? If after uninstall and try again. Ray (Cheshire, England). May 3, 20242 yr May I see your DLL.XML file? Also, if you run the XMLTools64 installer which is in the addons folder, does it complete? Mine says that the XMLtool64 is installed, but there is no DLL.xml present???? But it's there! What am I missing? Sorry for the trouble!
May 3, 20242 yr My DLL.xml is saved as an html document. Do I need to save this another way? It's almost like it isn't recognised!

May 3, 20242 yr Moderator @mort78, I’m wondering if P3D being installed inside Program Files might be a factor. Have you excluded that folder in Windows Security? Also include all addon folders containing scenery and aircraft. I’ve just noticed you have a Program Files folder on your D drive. Why? Installing direct to D:\P3Dv5 would simplify things. May 4, 20242 yr It's all very strange. My aircraft is working, as the aircraft loads. I can fly it. But those few things aren't loading/working correctly. It's odd. My XMLTools64installer log is identical to yours. With regards to the install path, I just installed it into the default location. I have 2 drives in my computer. I leave C:\ purely for windows and any operating system related files. D:\ is for all my "stuff". I've always done this, and never had any issues with it. With regards to the post by @pemigris, this is what I used initially as my dll.xml. Maybe I need to track down a new version of the XMLTool64?. I'll see what I can find.
May 4, 20242 yr Something else to report. I went into the configuration tool, to see if anything was different if I started the sim, with everything "Ready for Flight", rather than "Cold and Dark". So even if I select Ready for Flight, the aircraft loads with nothing switched on. I'll keep trying to troubleshoot. Cheers, Mort

It’s 1.0 so if yours is the same it won’t be that. Try adding XMLTool64 to your exclude list. I take it you’re on W11. It is frustrating. I don’t remember doing anything special to get it installed other than the Registry hack. Ray (Cheshire, England).
