May 11, 20215 yr Moderator @djbully, using the Registry hack appears to be the solution for installs, thanks. But what works for PMDG may not for Vertx. It reads the build number of the v4 executable so that needs to be present probably in a dummy folder. But my question was to those who copied things over from their v4 install to v5 and then uninstalled v4. Will the DA62 still work? Currently it’s fine for me in v5. Regarding XMLTools64.dll, I copied the one from my v4 install. Are you saying that isn’t the ideal solution? Ray (Cheshire, England). May 11, 20215 yr @Ray Proudfoot There was a post over on the Milviz support (Beaver) support forum with an attachment for a version that allows the Beaver to work on V5. I am using that version. That said, I don't know if this a newer version than the one for V4 on fsdeveloper site. Re reg info. It has no issue detecting V5 for me. So should not be a problem. Cheers, Bully. Add new key folder to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin called "Prepar3d v4" and then add 2 new string values into folder. The first string value needs to be renamed License and modify string value, if you have "Academic" version you need to put "Academic" into string value( License - Academic) The second one string value need to be renamed SetupPath and modify string value to ex. "D:\Prepar3d v4", that will cheat Config tool to think that you have Prepar3d v4 installed and it works fine. Hi Toni, I bit the bullet this morning and uninstalled P3Dv4. I had already followed the instructions in this topic to install the DA62 into v5 where it has been running fine. After the uninstall I launched the Config App and got the message previously reported. I edited the Registry and added the two string values described above. But rather than enter a string value of P3Dv4 I entered P3Dv5 and all seems well. It would appear the existence of a P3Dv4 entry is enough without a path to the P3Dv4 root folder. Hope this helps anyone else contemplating the uninstall. Ray (Cheshire, England). May 2, 20242 yr Hi all, So I decided to grab the Vertx DA62, after reading about the reg edit making everything work fine. So, I got the aircraft installed.... but with a few hiccups; 1. No sound inside the aircraft. 2. The Alerts on the MFD's just show up as jibbrish. Nothing that means anything. It just shows a 0 on each line, rather than the Alert message. Any idea's on a work around? I have P3dV5.3 installed. Many thanks everyone. Kind regards, Mort

May 2, 20242 yr Hi @Ray Proudfoot, many thanks for your reply. I couldn't remember if I did, so I uninstalled it, and tried to install it via Admin privileges. Still no joy 😞 Best regards, Mort

May 2, 20242 yr Moderator @mort78, A few things to check. 1) Do you have XMLTools64.dll in your P3D folder? 2) In Documents\Prepar3Dv5 addons do you have a VertxDA62 folder? That contains 5 subfolders plus the add-on.xml. In P3D Options - Addons does the DA62 appear? Ray (Cheshire, England). Yes, exactly that, plus a xmltools64 installer. 3. Nothing about the DA62 shows up in the P3D addons. Is this the cause? How do I get that to show up? Thanks again Ray. Kind regards, Mort
May 3, 20242 yr @Ray Proudfoot Hi again, Scratch that.... I see there is another place that has addons. It's listed there. hmmm...

I’m guessing it’s in your P3Dv4 Addon folder. Try moving it to the v5 equivalent. It sounds as though the Registry edit wasn’t correct. May 3, 20242 yr Im thinking I have an issue with the XMLTools64. or the DLL.xml file. Everything else is fine. Nothing is in my V4 anymore. Only the REG details
