ORBX installs nothing into V5

Featured Replies

Hi all-

I've got V5 installed along with ORBX Central 4.1.6 and all thats fine. Nothing else.

ORBX Central has created the V5 folder under ORBX Library with the two installed airports, KSAN and KTVL which are compatible according to the ORBX list.

Installed and verified both of those. Green circles indicate installed.

Open V5, neither are available. Open Lorbi's Manager under packages, nothing there.

Documents > V5 Addons is empty.

Checked ORBX forums this morning regarding this, including the directions that have been posted here several times and didn't find a reference to this, yet.

Probably something simple but can't seem to get a handle on this.

Cheers,

Mark

You might have the same problem as Nemo in this :

" I've just realized that ORBX add-on airports like KFHR, KORS etc. are not displayed in P3Dv5. Even when green and active in ORBX Central. Also uninstall/reinstall of those airports did not cure it. I checked then the corresponding add-ons.cfg in "Program Data" and found that those airport entries are still missing. Normally, ORBX Central should handle this.

Edit: Adding airport entries manually to the add-ons.cfg does it. KORS and KFHR are now correctly displayed in P3Dv5.

It does work automatically when you go into settings in Orbx Central and then determine the insertion point for the library. Then it scans your scenery.cfg and adds the Orbx components. To be honest it also took me a while to find out 😉

For me, this did not fix it.

Scanning for airports should not be dependent on an insertion point, I would think :>)

Thanks, Jim.

This appears to be the problem for me anyway. I added KSAN manually and sure enough it showed up.

I think I'll copy/paste the entries from V4 to V5, change the package numbers and the folder reference to V5. Where's that batch file when you need it? :tongue:

Is everyone else doing this? Why isn't Central managing this? I think I'll copy this over to ORBX support and see if I can get any takers...

Cheers,

Mark

Nope, moved some of my sceneries from the v4 library to the v5 library, clicked on "verify files" and they are displayed correctly in v5.

Maybe you guys forgot to click on "verify files"? There is a how to in the ORBX forums, btw...

Nope here too.

On my machine, ORBX Central does not write to C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\add-ons.cfg when adding an airport even though it shows as installed in V5 in OC and that airport exists in the V5 folder under ORBX Library; unless I add it by hand like this...

[Package.0]
PATH=G:\ORBX Library\p3dv5\KSAN San Diego International Airport
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=false

...then it appears in V5 along with Lorbi's Addon Manager.

Why this is so, i do not know. :>)

Yes, I have it.

I figured this out. My library is on a separate drive. So, this entry is required in the add-on.cfg...

[DiscoveryPath.0]
PATH=G:\ORBX Library\p3dv5
TITLE=Orbx Main Library

I've only brought over a few airports but V5 and Lorbi's AM pick them up right away.

Cheers,

Mark
