Do any of you know if it is possible to port MyTraffic from P3Dv4 to P3Dv5 and, if so, how to accomplish this?

Not sure because not done at this time but I guess that the principle should be the same as in P3Dv4 (I had installed it with the Add-ons.xml method (MT outside the simulator)).

Thanks RIchard, I will give ti a go later. Hopefully it will work.

No, I just added the MyTraffic folder to  the scenery library in P3Dv5 and then entered the same entry in simobjects.xml in P3Dv5 ProgramData as I had in P3Dv4. This resulted in a garbled display and so I reverted to a MyTraffic-free installation of P3Dv5.

I will try the method as described in the link you provided later today.

I followed Poppet's instructions exactly, and again, no cigar. This time around P3Dv5 started up perfectly, rebuilt the scenery index etc. but when P3D was active there was no 3rds party aircraft in sight. Not even when I set the slider to 100%. Do you have any idea what might have gone wrong? (Yes, I added the correct  MT folder to the scenery library as well)

It is working now. I made a typo in the xml file. But P3Dv5 now is starting up very slowly. (I only set AI tfc to 10%). It takes a long time before the splash screen disappears. Oh well, we can't have it all I guess.

Good to know, thank you!

The long time to load is normal, it was the same thing in P3Dv4.x and if I remember in FSX.

The simu first loads all the planes whether you set the setting to 10% or 100%.

The load time in P3Dv5 is much longer as it is in P3Dv4. You are right,the sim loads all planes no matter the percentage that is set in the settings.  I won't say loading time in P3Dv5 is ridiculously long, but it is as much as ~2 times longer than in P3Dv4. I wonder if Flight1's newest product, Traffic Global, will load faster? Guess not.

Honestly, I would recommend ditching MyTraffic and going with AIG's OCI. It is not officially compatible with v5 yet, and seems like it won't be until LM fixes some sort of bug with the default AI's landing lights. But, when they do update it, you will have extensive free AI planes of much higher quality than MyTraffic has ever delivered. And did I mention the $0 fee? Of course, if you absolutely cannot wait to get AI in your skies, then MyTraffic will get you there faster...

 Not necessarily, MyT 6 or moreso it's models (they just so VERY OLD and really quite hideous) are probably far less compatible in V5 as AIG's traffic as it is now. You can currently run OCI traffic in V5, but there are some noted minor issues that I actually haven't even noticed yet. Don't even start with Traffic Global.

Thanks Benjamin, I honestly never had heard of AIG's OCl before, but I will immediately rush over to their site and give it a go. Great suggestion, thanks again.
