April 27, 20206 yr Hello! I have a I7-7700, RTX 2070 Super and using P3D. Is it worth to upgrade from i7-7700 to i7-9700K? I would like to sell my i7-7700 and my mobo (GIGABYTE GA-H170M-D3H/-GSM) if I decide to buy an i7-9700K. For how much money can I sell them? Thank you! April 27, 20206 yr I upgraded from an i7-4770k to a i7-9700k a couple of months ago and am satisfied, though I strongly considered the Ryzen route as well. You have a much newer CPU and if I were you I'd wait at least until the i7-10700k releases or even until Ryzen 4 comes to market (end of year?). It seems flightsims (MSFS, XP11.50) finally are able to push more work to multiple cores and to the GPU so high single-core performance may not be as important in the future as it has been in the past.
April 27, 20206 yr Author Thank you! How much do you think I can get for i7-7700 and GIGABYTE GA-H170M-D3H/-GSM? I7-10700 (4.8 GHz with HT enabled) 2x16GB DDR4 3600MHz Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super OC Gaming
April 27, 20206 yr That highly depends. Just look up what people in your region charge for sth similar on ebay and then deduct 30% from that.
April 27, 20206 yr Author Roger, thank you! I7-10700 (4.8 GHz with HT enabled) 2x16GB DDR4 3600MHz Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super OC Gaming
April 28, 20206 yr Don't buy a 9700k right now. We are mere days (weeks) away from the launch of the 10th generation Core processors. 9700k will be replaced by the 10700k which will have HyperThreading and higher clock speeds for the same price. Don't buy a motherboard either, the new CPUs require a new socket and chipset (LGA 1200, Z490).
April 29, 20206 yr I agree with TechguMaxC. I think the introduction of the a new socket, the LGA 1200, signals the end of the line for the current LGA 1151, so no further upgrade path for the current socket. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
April 29, 20206 yr The 10 series launch announcement is tomorrow, and here are the specs and prices: https://videocardz.com/newz/exclusive-intel-10th-gen-core-comet-lake-s-final-specs-and-pricing-leaked
