April 30, 20206 yr Hi everyone First of all, I'd like to make it clear I'm not looking to make this thread about the price or marketing strategies surrounding the CS767. There's already another thread covering this pretty well, and what I'm looking for is some honest feedback about the flying from those who have flown this addon. Like many of you, I strongly miss the 767, especially remembering the Level D model. That said, I'm also a big fan of the 757, and I bought the CS model a few months back. Until now, sadly, it remains for me "the plane I'd love to love" but can't. I've flown it maybe three or four times and I finished each flight feeling frustrated. Why? Essentially because of the poor flight dynamics. Hand flying this bird, especially on approach and landing, is a terrible experience. The flight model is sluggish and imprecise, controls respond poorly and the model is so badly tuned you often don't even feel the touchdown - which is quite strange when landing an 85-tonne aircraft. Also, weight and balance is very poorly simulated - unless you have an unrealistically aft CG, it will fly with an excessive nose-down attitude on approach, while in reality the stab trim should be able to compensate for this. All of this is even more frustrating when you listen to real world pilots praising the excellent handling of the real 757. So, as much as I miss the 767, my experience with the 757 leaves me wondering if they share the same flaws, and fearing that the 767 may just be a "757 v2 on steroids". That's why I'm looking to hear from those who have flown it. What are your opinions, particularly on flight dynamics and hand flying? How heavy is it in terms of FPS? Anything else you particularly liked or disliked? If you have both the 757 and 767, how do you compare them? Any feedback is much appreciated. Cheers Antonio LPMA
April 30, 20206 yr Personally I love it. It flies well and gets me from point A to B. I can’t really say that it flies the same as a 757. Now it does not fly the same as the Level D. The level D had a very fast reaction. In fact I always felt it was too soft. On the controls. This 767 doesn’t have the same handling as the CS 757. The CS757 feels like it wants to sway into its inertia requiring a lot of input to stabilize. This 767 is a joy to handle. It doesn’t not have that same over controlling feel that the 757 has. Cockpit. Yeah the base structure of the 757 is there and obviously for the reason that they already had all of those components. So why would they remake it? They should continue to build on the foundation they have with the cockpit but I fear they might not be able too with out breaking lots of things. FPS has me concerned there is a lot of eye candy in this bird. That being said. I’ve never dipped below 20 frames on it even leaving KEWR last night. Systems need an improvement but you will not be frustrated because of CTD or incomplete systems that won’t get you to your destination. I’m doing my first long haul right now to HNL its going well. My sentiments? I’ve been wanting a 767 for a long time. So I was willing to pay for it. CS has done great job in bringing the modeling to today’s standards. We already know 70% of the crowd is angry at their pricing. In the end for me it was a very simple equation (Did I want it?, Was I going to get my money’s worth of enjoyment?) Answer to both of those for me is yes. Edited April 30, 20206 yr by Alcides Segovia Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight
May 1, 20206 yr Author Thank you Alcides that was exactly the kind of analysis I was looking for. Would love to hear even more opinions 🙂 Cheers LPMA
May 1, 20206 yr I echo Alcides comments. It flies well, performs well and looks great. I've put in about 12hrs over 4 sectors and have not had a CTD or major issue. Considering it's still marketed as beta I am looking forward to the final product. VNAV fixes are already being looked at, pedestal is being revised and additional features being added/refined. Worth the $100? It's steep but I like the 767 and am not overly fussed on different engine variants so I don't mind paying the price.

Yes it is steep and to some extent that is a bit of a dodgy one by CS, but I've certainly been guilty in the past of taking a chance on Betas and buying them only to get left high and dry - and not just with CS - so I'm not going to judge anyone else for doing that. At the end of the day people can come on a forum and complain about it, but the solution really is for them to vote with their wallet if it bothers them that much and it is this, rather than sounding off in a forum, which will garner results. In the meantime, enjoy your new plane 🙂 Edited May 1, 20206 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 1, 20206 yr The topic of this thread is pretty clear...it was a request for info from those that actually have the add-on, not an invitation for another debate on quality, pricing, etc.--that slag-fest has already come and gone on another thread. Please respect the OP's request for info without turning it into an off-topic food fight.
