Gary, forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you are understanding that regardless where you installed UTL G drive or z or e drive the installer is going to put the add-on.xml for UTL in your documents folder, it's usually in c:\users\(username)\documents unless you moved your documents folder. vbazillio is pointing you to the c:\ drive because that is the default install, but you chose the E drive (which is fine, I put mine in my G drive) but you will still end up  a with a UTL folder containing the add-on.xml in your Documents folder.

In Gary's setup, I bet he should have an add-on.xml file in this folder C:\Users\<your name>\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\utLive\ :

If nothing of the previous exist, there's something wrong in his setup and I suggest he gives it a try and create all content described ; the directory and the file.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think that people are not taking into acccount that I have two Documents:

1. C:\Users\mail\Documents
2. C:\Users\mail\OneDrive\Documents

I've made sure that they both contain the Prepar3d v5 folders, so that is not a problem.

It has created an odd folder system: C:\Users\mail\OneDrive\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons

Whether I use the OneDrive Documents folder or not, there is the folder above - two Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons folders - one inside the other! I will do what you suggested, remove the current version and use the default C drive to install it again.

That folder (C:\Users\mail\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\utLive\) does not exist, even after the new install.  It stops at the Documents folder.

I will manually create those folders/file.

Done so, but no help.   In the Documents folder I have created C:\Users\mail\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\utLive\add-on.xml, which I assume you wanted in previous post, and when I start the utLive app I get this in the top right of the app:

All I did to get UT Live working perfectly. leave v4 installed, just copy the contents of the v4 addons folder to the v5 addons folder and it worked automatically. In fact leaving v4 installed whilst waiting for all the updates saves a heap of problems

I think I've made some progress. I have done nothing except starting P3D again after all them changes.  I'll continue working on it.  I really appreciate people getting to me, especially jimcarrel and vbazillio.

Gary, the add-on.xml should be inside of the UTLive folder of this path -   C:\Users\mail\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\utLive

 

Now here is what my add-on.xml looks like - notice I installed to my G drive, you installed to the E drive, if you installed yours in E:\Program Files\, you will have to point it there instead of my G:\ drive

**OH poo, I just remembered you had re-installed to the default C:\program files\ directory, you'll have to change the above to that location!

Hi Sierra Hotel I did exactly as you suggested, but dont see any aircraft, Utlive works in P3dV4 so I just moved across the utile in the P3Dv5 documents and added Utlive at startup but I still see no aircraft in the P3dV5 sim, dam

Strange i have done exactly that and nothing, added into documents,enabled in p3dv5 and see the splash screen but 0 traffic

Do you see UTL in Add On menu inside Prepar3D ? Check also that your add-on.xml file points to the correct path to utlive AI models.
