May 2, 20206 yr Just did my very first flight in this aircraft since I purchased it when QW had a sale, ages ago. Only snag, despite using the defaults F7-F8, the flaps refuse to budge. Is there something right under my nose with this particular aircraft that I am missing? Those F7-F8 settings work perfectly in other aircraft, viz. PMDG, Majestic, FSL Carenedo, CS, etc, etc Rick Almeida
May 2, 20206 yr This issue with the flaps, as I recall, was identified a couple of years ago. There was a patch to fix it. Are you current with the patches? Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)
May 2, 20206 yr Author @JRMurray Thank you for that reply. I was beginning to wonder, was I day-dreaming? Glad somebody else was aware of this too. No, (a)I did not know there was was a Patch for that flaps issue, and (b) do not have it. So, I'll go looking for it at Quality Wings website now. Maybe now I will begin to really enjoy this aircraft at last. Rick Almeida
May 2, 20206 yr Hope it works out, Rick. I recall having the same problem, and the patch fixed it. Might have been around 2018 or so. Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)
May 2, 20206 yr Author You were so right, Joel, as my existing QW BAe 146 installation file was version 1.4 whereas that Patch you pointed me towards, is v 1.5. Safely installed now. Fingers crossed no more silly nonsense. Best part of it all----what a hoot---is the Quick Start Guide pdf is so well scripted yet the most essential part of any aircraft be it a 747 to a Tiger Moth, is the Flaps, and that they dismally failed on😡 Rick Almeida
May 3, 20206 yr Author Joel, just out of interest, why does the BAe146-300 model, not the RJ70-100 variants, not have anywhere to dial in the IAS,the VNAV, or LNAV or Heading ,or Level Change dials in the MCP? Am I missing something? Thanks. Rick Almeida
May 4, 20206 yr Hi, Rick. The manual mentions that the 146-100 and -200 cockpits are fully analog, and th -300 is "simple EFIS." The RJ series are "full EFIS." That's probably the difference between the types. My guess, then, would be that the 146 series have less automation than the RJ series. May 5, 20206 yr Author Thanks, Joel. One more pick of your brain, why is that the RJ100 ND does not show the Approach Runway ILS or the runway for that matter. Tied to land at LGSK(SKiathos) at night, but instead of LNAV vectoring me in correctly to the Runway heading which was 008, instead from a course of 133, it took me directly above LGSK with no time to prepare for the approach to Rwy01, so that was bit of a disaster after a 2:30hr flight at night from EBBR(Brussels) Rick Almeida
May 6, 20206 yr Sorry, Rick. I don't know. I haven't flown the RJ100 for quite some time. Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)

G Not quite sure despite the Quality Wings name to this aircraft, if it does not not fail on some ND aspects. The last thing I wanted in the middle of the night, landing at Skiathos, was having to hunt for the runway in pitch darkness. And like you, I have the latest Airac Cycle. Not a QW Forum member, so, may park up this aircraft, again🤣 Rick Almeida

Love it for it's short field abilities, just need to keep an eye on the strange things the FMS does !! G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron

G Tend to agree with you that QW have more or less ditched this old generation aircraft and concentrate on their 787 sales, but even then, I refuse to buy any more of their products because they are half-baked at the end of the day. You only have to look in here to see so many bugs and issues with it. Bit like CS, release to cash in never-mind- the- quality-feel-the-width(sorry about the intended pun!!🤣) Edited May 7, 20206 yr by vc10man Rick Almeida
