Al, I did the modifications in the file dll.xml file exactly as posted in the AVISIM instructions...and saved the new dll.xml file edited with notepad

a) Re started FSX SE...Positioned the plane in an airport.

b) Configured all systems off with panel 1...Set -up Parking brakes..

c) In panel 2, activated one of the external power sources (green check)  and activated the corresponding switches  in the overhead panel + co-pilot external power buttons located in the passenger door.  The Payload manager now has the orange readings in each windows.

d) Finally in the payload manager activated the fuel truck (green check).

I tried to enter new data in the payload manager....nothing happened....it is the same as described before...I cannot edit the payload manager

Did I miss anything?.

Mistery

Could you please copy and past the contents of the dll.xml file here, and also the location of the dll.xml file.

I don't think there are any co-pilot switches we need to worry about. I have never used any of those.

Thx,

Al

Location of the dll.xml file:

c;/Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\ConfigData\AppData

Original file in notepad as follows:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
  <Descr>Launch</Descr>
  <Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Object Placement Tool</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Traffic Toolbox</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Visual Effects Tool</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>

</SimBase.Documents

I edited the new file adding the addedmdum for XLM tools....as described in the AVSIM instructions

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
  <Descr>Launch</Descr>
  <Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Object Placement Tool</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Traffic Toolbox</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Visual Effects Tool</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>XMLTools</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>XMLTools.dll</Path>
    <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
    <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
  </Launch.Addon>
  </SimBase.Document>

I have a doubt now.... is this the correct path? the other paragrapjs came already dsecribing the path from Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK. I was trying to find where is it in my files...

Should I have edited  the XMTools.dll path based in its location in FSX?

such as ...

<Path>...c;\Steam/steamapps\common\FSX\XMLTools.dll</Path>

Yes, I would try editing the XMLtools path as you have listed above EXCEPT the path should be

C:\Steam\Steamapps\common\FSX\XMLTools.dll    so no .. before the C, a : after the C, and all back slashes, no forward slashes.

So try that.

You are right, I am learning how to edit correctly with notepad.

Finally I finally found the SDK file.

- What confuse me is the path selected in the original file dll.xml in notepad edition

for example  for traffictooolbox,dll: it shows the root file as....Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\ SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll </Path>

- Similar for the for others dll mentioned

-Should it be C:\Steam\Steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK?

I do not have such file Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK....in the steam root

At this point I would not change any of the entries in the original dll.xml  -- just add the one for XMLtools using the full path as outlined above and see what happens. We can then go from there.

Should I enter:

<Path>C:\Steam\Steamapps\common\FSX\XMLTools.dll  or

<Path>C:\Steam\Steamapps\common\FSX\XMLTools.dll</Path> ?

Thanks

OK. Do you have a dll.xml file at C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE   ?  This path may end in FSX and not FSX-SE on your machine. I think it depends on if you also have the box FSX installed.

Al

Also, please post here again the dll.xml file that you added the dll.xml path to.

I have a dll.xml file as XLM document at \Users\my name\AppData\roaming\Microsoft\FSX

It has similar entries  as described in the other dll.xml plus  new entries for following programs some of them I do not use anymeore.

-CMeteoXml

FSUIPC 4

VistaMare Core

PMDG Options

PMDG Events

PMDG Sounds

WebSimXML

Carenavigraph</Name>

WXAdvantage</Name>

I have the old FSX gold edition box but was not installed as I purchase the Steam FSX SE downlead edition. I did a clean install with windows 10 and did not used the old Microsoft FSX box

Confusing...

Quote: Also, please post here again the dll.xml file that you added the dll.xml path to.

Here it is

?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
  <Descr>Launch</Descr>
  <Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Object Placement Tool</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Traffic Toolbox</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Visual Effects Tool</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>XMLTools</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>C:\Steam\Steamapps\common\FSX\XMLTools.dll</Path>
    <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
    <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
  </Launch.Addon>
  </SimBase.Document>

Looks like you did a good job adding the XMLtools information into the 'first' dll.xml file.

At this point I would try:

1. Adding the XML tools section to the second dll.xml file. What I have there is this entry:

<Launch.Addon>
        <Name>XMLTools</Name>
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
        <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
        <Path>XMLTools.dll</Path>
        <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
        <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
    </Launch.Addon>

2. If that doesn't work you can try using the full XMLtools path as we did before in the second dll.xml file.

3. With the dll.xml entries in place, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Falcon 50 into FSX-SE.

4. Maybe also try restarting your computer.

I'm sorry, but I don't have any other ideas right now.

One other thing, where is your FLYSIM Falcon 50 folder located -- what is the path?
