May 22, 20206 yr If I understand you correctly you are asking about a Navigraph update for the GNS 430? If so, this is not possible, the nav data is owned by Garmin. David Porrett

Absolutely incorrect. The GNS430 is fully updatable with Navigraph. https://www.navigraph.com/FmsDataManualInstall.aspx X-Plane GNS430, FF757/767/777, X-Crafts Embraer E-175, Aerobask SkyView, JRollon Planes CRJ200, JARDesign A320/A330, ToLiss A319 (XP10), STMA Aircraft, Magknight 787AE - native**

The 1911 is an old cycle. You should not be seeing that cycle on the web site or in the data manager. The current one is 2006. On the Navigraph website (or in the data manger), the download you want is marked “X-Plane GNS430, FF757/767/777... (followed by a long list of other XP aircraft that use the same format). On the Navigraph manual download page under “products” it is at the very end of the list of downloadable databases. You do understand that the Navigraph downloads are not free? You have to have a subscription (minimum one month), and be logged into your account to actually download the databases. It has the “look and feel” of the real unit, but is not based on the real GNS. As you said, it can be updated. The RealityXP and Flight1 GNS-430 add-ons use the trainer software created by Garmin. I think that was what DavidP was referring to. Those units can definitely not be updated by anyone other than Garmin. That is much different from saying "units can definitely not be updated by anyone other than Garmin". I have not had to send my units to Garmin to get them updated. Yes in saying “by Garmin” I mean “from Garmin”. It’s probably my German heritage showing through that I typically use that phrasing. Garmin and Jeppesen are the only sources from which the databases for either the actual hardware GNS (or the associated trainer) can be obtained. Obviously FMS or GPS units made by Garmin, Rockwell Collins or Honeywell are not sent in to the manufacturer to be updated - it is done with downloadable database files, or via plug-in SIM cards mailed to the subscriber.
