It probably is worth it for the added visual qualities but as it’s the first version to use DX12 some tweaking is required by LM. The alternative is to change to a more powerful graphics card with 11Gb of VRAM. If you read the required specs here you’ll see your graphics card is only just above min spec. https://www.prepar3d.com/system-requirements/ v5 will run fine. Just lower your settings. Look at my spec below. I have to keep most of the sliders towards the low end to run Concorde in P3D v3 otherwise I run out of VAS. Frustrating but I just accept it. And I have to downscale my UHD monitor to 1920*1080 too and I can tell you that does not make the sim look good at all. Ray (Cheshire, England). June 3, 20206 yr P3D V4.5 is already a fabulous, stable sim w/ broad 3rd party content support and that runs beautifully on half decent hardware. Next stop: TOTAL newness, MSFS20. I'm delighted to have v4.5 to tie me over until the new sim debuts. If it flops, no worries I am still happy w/ 4.5 and by then v5 might actually be worth the upgrade, or not. Unless you just like to install and fix and troubleshoot and resinstall and monitor for hot fixes, and compatability of 3rd party content in order to get "the same settings in v5 are actually somewhat higher than they were in v4...." you'd be better off enjoying what you already have. But I know some folks just like new, change, fixing broken things, and I certainly appreciate what we learn from them. I tire quickly of fixing broken things and am pleased when it all plays together well, as does P3D v4.5, ASN4, REX SkyForce, FSCaptain, and my four lovely planes: PMDG 777, PMDG NGXu, Majestic Crash 8 & Carenado Phenom 300.
