New purchase about a weel ago. Kinda figured out most systems. What I havent figured out was how to hook with an ILS. First, I know I have the freqs correct. Now, whats the procedure to get the system to recognize the ILS & then hook up to the glidescope.

Do you have the ILS frequency set in the NAV1 radio (in the GNS 430)?

If yes, click the CDI button on the GNS430 to switch it from GPS mode into VLOC mode.

Bert Pieke  Thanx for your quick response. Will do what you suggest, not sure if I tried that combination before.

There is nothing special about the Carenado/Alabeo GNS units, they use stock FS9/FSX GPS/comms/nav coding.  If the correct ILS frequency is placed in the GNS430 and activated and the GNS430 GPS mode is set to VLOC and you are within range of the ILS you should have no trouble capturing the ILS.  Make sure you are tuned to the correct ILS frequency.  I know many airports since the introduction of FSX have changed or added ILS systems and those changes are not reflected in FSX.  Some add-on airports may have updated ILS/NAV or even Comm frequencies.
