Lionheart Quest Kodiak..

Featured Replies

The Lionheart Quest Kodiak v4 installation works in P3Dv5 up to a point.

I cannot create a startup scenario with the aircraft because it won't start.  Either using Ctl-E or trying to start it from the panel I can see the prop pitrch change and hear the start motor run..and run...and run...and run.  No matter what I do to the throttle or fuel lever nothing happens.

Right now I am creating a startup scenario with the default Mooney and then loading the Kodiak from there.  Then it starts fine.

Any hints as to what the problem is?  I've even tried creating a startup scenario with the engine running but when I bring it up the engine is stopped.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

My best idea is that certain sim variables aren't being set (or re-set) correctly with the aircraft.  This isn't a problem unique to the Kodiak.

The only workaround I can see is what you're doing (load a default aircraft, then the Kodiak) -- short of Lionheart figuring out what needs to be changed.

Hi,

Went trough the same issue with the Kodiak, e-mailed Bill Ortis of Lionheart, said that the Kodiak starts fine, the issue in my case was the

default flight loaded had the fuel switched off. Once I fixed that the Kodiak now starts fine.

Hope that helps.

Just getting my P3DV5 install setup. Installed the Quest Kodiak and had no problems starting it up.  I would check to make sure fuel tank switches are turn on as mentioned by helberger.  The fuel tank switches are mounted in the ceiling / roof above the windshield.

Still no-go.

I brought up my Mooney Acclaim.  Then I selected the Kodiak.  It started fine.  Then I saved it as a scenario named Kodiak making sure the fuel tanks were on.

I exited P3D.  Restarted it and on the startup screen I loaded the Kodiak scenario.  It came up.  I verified the fuel tanks were on.  I pushed battery and avionics switches and pressed the start switch.  The start motor came on and just whined away.  I cycled the fuel switches and nothing.

Then I exited P3D and restarted.  Selected the Kodiak scenario and when it came up I pressed CTL-E.  The starter motors came up but no puff of black smoke or engine start.

My P3Dv5 just doesn't like my Kodiak.

I tried this again and the Kodiak will not start for me either.  I have contacted LHC and will see what they can come up with.

Hopefully it might be a version for V5 John.  Let us know if they come up with anything.

Got this from Lionheart on starting the Kodiak.

It might be a simulator bug.  For now, you will need to use Control-E to start the Kodiak until the bug can be figured out.

Make sure you have created a cold and dark saved flight file off of a running Kodiak that was shut down, not from another plane.
